It started early yesterday morning in the building on 14th streetnday night, firefighters rushed to the rear of that same building to put out a mattress fire at a homeless encampment. We dont know yet if that mattress fire is linked to yesterday mornings huge fire. A man who was forced by the flames to evacuate his buildings that it smelled like burning tires and says the flames were huge. The flames were three times as high as the building was. I mean, it was fully engulfed back there. I have never seen a city fire spread this fast before. It was amazing. Late last night officials told us the fire may not be fully contained for a few days. The owner, bruce barfield, said didnt see any flames until he opened the doors the building. The experiences, you cant describe it because your whole livelihood is gone.
