One of the hotspots in san quentin prison and marin county has 1600 cases of covid19 and that includes more than 505 inmates and Staff Members at the present who have tested positive for the virus. Last weekend there were 100 people infected at the prisons of the outbreak there is growing rapidly. The rains County Corner is investigating the death of 71 yearold death row inmate at the prison trying to figure out whether he may have died from coronavirus. Marin county Health Officials are working with the state to treat inmates on site and create a surge hospital on the state prison grounds. Outside of san quentin there are other outbreaks in marin county and what Health Officials call workplace cold clusters. 30 workers tested positive for the virus. Essential workers and households in the person who brings it into the household this transmission within the household and we are seeing a much higher proportion of asymptomatic people, much lower hospitalization rates. The average age of someone in marin county who test positive for covid19s 34 years old and so far the number of people who have been hospitalized is low. A rate of 3 of all cases. Right now in the county there are a total of 10 people hospitalized in marin county hospitals with covid19 and thats double the number of hospitalizations from last week but overall are a relatively low number.
