Area well, just in case things are getting a little bit too boring, Mountain Lion seen roaming the streets of San Francisco was around last night and around this morning and has been captured and an officer spotted the animal oracle park this morning and called for backup and police surrounded it until animal control arrived. Crew safely capture the Mountain Lion near the park and along the waterfront. The Mountain Lion is now in the custody of the California Department of fish and wildlife and when i saw this last night i was thinking, boy, this has been quite a year, add this everything thats happened something serious or something not and it has been quite a year and i never thought i would the amount lion in downtown San Francisco. I was shocked as well and i was kind of to twitter is eyesight popping up i live in east bay and we get an occasional wild turkey with foxes in the backyard but since the pandemic started we have had deer all over the back hill and more wild turkeys and ive ever seen before and its kind of like animals are coming out but no Mountain Lions in my neighborhood yet. For someone who grew up in San Francisco, especially the location by oracle park cruising down during king mab twin peaks or Golden Gate Park or glen canyon but the location was pretty interesting and so im glad that they were able to get the cat surrounded and back in custody. You never know what could happen in the city of San Francisco. Right now the newscast is down in the south bay with a hostage situation in san jose thats now over and three suspects are in custody. Police say that a group of people broke into a home and assaulted the family inside overnight. Officers were first alerted about a disturbance at a home on center road and investigators say that for victims were able to escape while arriving and officers did arrest one suspect outside the house. But there were still hostages inside of the house with two other suspects. However, officers later arrested the suspect in the standoff is now over. Pg e will be sentenced by judge for 84 counts of Involuntary Manslaughter and other charges for the utilities role in the deadly campfire. Allie rasmus reported live on what will happen before the sentencing and the punishment pg e will face. Before the sentencing we hear from more victims families got 85 people died in the campfire in 2018 and today pg e will be sentenced and that means the penalty is a 4 million fine, the maximum allowed by law. So in a chico courtroom their family members of some other victims read aloud their victim impact statements and described grief, anger and suffering caused by pg e because of the fire while executives sat and listened to the statements in court. As part of a plea deal they agreed to accept responsibility for causing the campfire with faulty equipment that was not properly maintained. I dont know how he died, i will never know if it was 660 asian as the fire set the oxygen out of his house, smoke and elation or heart attack from burning to death. I look at these people after they talked and there was absolutely no reaction there wasnt a tear of a didnt move, they just stood there and might as well have sent a couple of statues. It galls me that im gonna pay their salaries and bonuses. As a corporation, pg e can go to jail for its crimes and the company will also pay 13 1 2 billion dollars to compensate survivors of the campfire another fires blamed on the utility in 2017 and 2018. One of the nations largest utilities made 17 billion in revenue last year, even while the company worked out its financial problems in bankruptcy. Its expected to emerge from bankruptcy in the coming weeks and today in court we hear more family members read how this deadly campfire impacted them other grief they are still experiencing and then after that they will eventually be sentenced to pay the maximum 4 million fine. New reports point to a growing resistance to wearing facial coverings and masks. In some county in california there are zero mask mandates in effect still, Health Officials say its critical to her Face Covering to help prevent the further spread of covid19. Lets talk about this more by welcoming the National Infectious disease leader, dr. David witt. Thank you for joining us. Good morning. The study after study has shown that wearing a mask has a direct impact on cuttingathe transmission of covid19. I read stories of people getting funny looks and why are you wearing that thing and the person responds i am doing this to protect you. If theres someone out there listening who has been shunned or ostracized for choosing to wear a mask to what you tell that person as far as how they move about their day and how to react others . I think its really fair to say am doing this to protect you come to this is a patriotic duty to protect all americans im doing this to protect our parents and it just has a lot to do with politics either way. Ive talked to people in the northern reaches of california where there are few if any covid19 restrictions in place and they come back to the bay area and save boy that felt weird, do you think that more municipalities need to enact stricter rules because as californians we travel from county to county all the time. I think its a real point and i think its one of the problems with handling a pandemic and there are differences in estate with low impact , it may be much less necessary but once the diseases in your county and your community, dampening the disease is absolutely requiring everything we can do and its not just the mass, its staying 6 feet away from other folks as a supplement to the mask. It will be everywhere, this is like flu, it will be everywhere and so when we first see it coming, that is when we should jump on it. Some of the most solid data weve seen is from countries that were hit hard by mrsa and sars. We recognized early to not do Contact Tracing and were still not doing it well. And they just aborted this with aggressive masking and in many Asian Countries its more of a normal thing than it is in the u. S. And that is one of the impediments for doing it. That south korea traced everyone that the case had contact with and isolated them of the community wore a mask and it was required in the disease really passed quickly. New zealand also marked the fact it had no more active cases of covid19 about the Prime Minister there was very clear in saying look, we are good for now but dont give up on wearing a mask and dont forget social distancing and expect the rules to come back if they see another flareup of coronavirus. And thats what im referring to. Its particularly important and one of the problems is we dont have a great Surveillance System that tests are more available but the way we are using them as random so we arent necessarily testing those at risk and so we may not pick it up until later but as soon as we have them in the community we have them and it comes important and when travel comes back to new zealand, obviously they are at risk again and there may be segments of new zealand were could be around. One of the problems with the viruses that this disease is communicable before you have symptoms. And its really not transferable but its harder to recognize when there is asymptomatic disease out there. I knew in their early days it felt so weird to wear a face mask at the Grocery Store but now i think it would feel weird or not to wear one. Thank you dr. For joining us this morning. Glad to be here. Coming up helping other parents get organized this summer up next guys speak with the mother of 10 and the founder of mama systems. Net. To show up. For the sweet. The hectic. Matter what each day brings. So long as you can say. I am here. Aim. To be there more. Talk to your doctor about aimovig. A mother of 10, thats what i said got 10 is taking her experience and sharing it with other parents to help them get organized this summer. This is Laura Hernandez and her family to the founder of mama systems. Net. She shared with me how you cannot only survive a long summer days with the kids but how you can also have fun. Heres the deal. We have to start with a plan. And i know that sounds kind of obnoxious and weve been planning so much and theres been so much into parenting our children so far this spring but i know, from my story and from other mom clients that its the best way to have a successful anything. Its figuring out what you need to get done and you figure out the times during the day and setting clear expectation and the Biggest Challenges now that summer is here. I think trying to multitask its one thing i see over and over again and i try to help a kid and check an email and when all of that happens theres nothing good going on got were not succeeding in any area so really step writing the tasks and matching them in times of the day where we can sit down and do all the emails and knock it out and we have time where we sit down with our kids and focus on whatever theyre working on and play a game with them and really hitting the parenting guilt we all feel when kids come to play with us and we are working and a lot of people feel a lot of guilt about that and so, having the set time when you know you are feeling the love tanks is a great place to start because you can know in your mind that you have filled them up and they are good and you feel better about saying mama needs to work right now so i need you to hop out. Structure is still important for kids, even during the summer . It is so important and so important for parents also. Kids know what is expected and thins are a lot more calm and less chaotic and im really recommending to parents right now creating times during the day and if its your work time that you have to spend time on educational apps are doing the work book and setting clear expectations so they know what it is. I think theres so many options its overwhelming and everybody shuts down and then there fighting all the time and the evening time we are gonna play as a family so thats our time together will we get to play and hang out. So laura, how do you tell clients, the first thing that you tell them that they have to do when they become your client . The first thing we do is make a list and evaluate what were doing at the current moment and all of those things go from each thing to each thing and we dont Pay Attention to what were doing and what we can delegate out to our kids and get them as chores. We dont Pay Attention and we have them write down what they do. We go through the list and categorize it between what gives them life and what things we want to try or at as and what drains them and what we want to take off our list altogether. So whether thats hiring somebody to do it, our kids after earn tickets for touchscreens. If they want to play a computer game outside of school or educational time they have to turn in tickets for that. They have to earn the tickets so they come to ask, how can i help and what do i do and you have a ticket job for me. There are many times when i look around at our house is clean and the kids are asking for jobs, i dont have anything, theres nothing for you to do because i cant think of anything for you to do that so its kind of a very magical situation where your kids are asking you to help, which is a miracle in and of itself but then your house can be clean, pretty much all the time because we delegated out chores so they help clean up after themselves.
