Reporter out of more than 1200 Skilled Nursing facilities, these 258 are dealing with coronavirus cases. Santa clara county leads the bay area with coronavirus cases at 11 Nursing Homes, most notable, Canyon Springs postacute of 26 staffers and 45 patients testing positive for covid19. Alameda county has nine nursing home outbreaks, the most notable there, gateway care and rehab with 33 staffers and 69 positive patients. That is in San Francisco, at least two in san mateo and contra costa counties, and at least one outbreak and Nursing Homes and marin and sonoma counties. What we are seeing is the tip of the iceberg it is going to get much, much worse before it gets better. Reporter he believes the numbers are much higher. That is because only 86 of nursing facilities reported their numbers to the state. It is not include the real number of illnesses and deaths at facilities who are not wanting to tell regulators just how bad the problem is. Reporter there working on updating the numbers to include all Skilled Nursing facilities and numbers for more than 7000 adult and senior care centers. We will include in that number the number of deaths, not just a number of facilities, number of staff, and number of patients impacted by covid19. They announced sunday it is requiring Nursing Homes across the country to report coronavirus cases directed to the centers for Disease Control as well as patients and their families. It is important that patients and their families have the information that they need, they need to understand what is going on in the nursing home. Reporter state regulators and inspectors are needed at facilities on the ground to help mitigate the spread. While we are sort of putting ourselves on the back for flattening the curve in california and in new york, we are able to do that because of social distancing and there is no social distancing inside of Nursing Homes. Reporter we reached out to a number of skilled Nursing Homes and a handful tell us they take a number of steps to help mitigate the risk of the outbreak. We are looking at the temperatures from today, saturday, sunday and today kind of mild compared to last week. That was the dip, that was cool down and then this week, temperatures, well, tomorrow, a good 5 to 10 degrees over these temperatures and it will keep advancing as we go into friday when we could see mid and even some upper 80s and warmer spots, so a significant warming trend coming our way, with temperatures well into the 80s. And you can see the green out there, a little bit of green and cloud cover. The plan for tomorrow will be more sunshine, considerably more sunshine and considerably warmer temperatures. May be a bit of patchy, coastal fog but very little to speak of as you look at San Francisco, market street. You can see tomorrow, there it is, the forecast, you can see no fog along the coast, yellows are 70s, so a lot more 70s. It has been pretty cool the last couple of days, especially today with the warm spots being in the mid60s.
