When the stolen minivan was on interstate 80. We spoke with the Vacaville Police department. Hed officers tracked it they called Vacaville Police for backup because he was heading toward the city. The driver suddenly exited the freeway and led chp and police on a chase through city streets. The suspect vehicle made its way to mir road and edwin drive. A residential area. The officers were out of their vehicle at the time. The officers discharged their firearms at the suspect at the time. We do not know if he was hit. Reporter that was the first time officers fired at the suspect. The suspect eventually crashed into a Drainage Ditch in an unincorporated part of solano county. Chp helicopter saw the man run into a field. Officers opened fire again striking the suspect multiple times. He was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The suspects name has not been released. An adult male in his 40s or 50s and they believe he lived in the vacaville area. Body cam and dashcam video will be reviewed. The man who was hurt suffered smoke inhalation living in one of the two homes impacted by the fire. It started around 1120 last night and this is what firefighters saw a wall of flames that sits between two homes and a neighborhood near seventh and julian and far from the interstate. The twostory home with a people inside was damaged and spread to a second home with eight People Living there. Behind one of the two homes was also engulfed in flames. Its looking like it started in the rv. Thats where the significant fire was and we have investigators take a look at that. To go from what you guys were doing prior to the pandemic to what you are doing now. How quickly were you able to change those production lines and make those mass. Its been a great effort for the whole team. Everyone is affected by covid 19. But we know its the right time to step up. And i feel really enthusiastic and honored to be part of the team. Everyone wants to stay. We use our cool expertise and manufacturing expertise to start in the space of a few weeks to get high numbers of these face shields coming out. Not just face shields.
