Reporter which will also be crucial for the entire 45 billion cruise industry, which has been hammered by lost stock price, voyages and customers. We are awaiting the arrival of the samples. We dont know if theyll come by the road or the helicopter helicopters. If they have to be quarantined, could that quarantine happen while the ship remains offshore . Or would that happen while its dock there, potentially in San Francisco . It could happen at one of a number of places. It would be bad to do it out to sea because some people will get seasick. On top of that, if it becomes a pettrey dish, you dont want to have that confined space. Most likely there might be a quarantine that would take place. Very likely dockside, or they might transport those people to Travis Air Force force or some other quarantine sites. Thats why these tests are so crucial. At this time, this wasnt their recommendation. But were taking the our families, their concerns into account. And we know this is a conservative decision. But we did it out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students. Reporter the School District is hoping to have an update as early as tomorrow about whether school will resume on monday. In the meantime, the district says it will be giving lowell a thorough cleaning. Also apparently working on a Remote Learning plan just in case students are kept away from their schools. That student does not appear to be showing any symptoms that they may have contracted covid 19 there. No confirmation that that student has covid19. Yesterday the union petitioned osha to adopt an Emergency Temporary Standard to protect healthcare workers, patients and the public. The nurses say theyre confident the coronavirus can be contained if employers and the government provide them with the right staffing, equipment, and supplies. Its its not just here in the bay area. The cleanup has begun after two deadly tornadoes touched down in tennessee. Lauren blanchard in cookville, one of the hardesthit areas. And Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the race to become the democratic president ial nominee. Coming up next what this move means for the upcoming primaries, the debates and the convention. And the cooldown has arrived. Lot of low clouds, and some high clouds moving into the area right now, and eventually, we could be talking about some shower chance, finally. Crowded democratic field has narrowed once again with Elizabeth Warren dropping out of the race. She made that announcement from her home earlier this morning. And the big question, will she endorse somebody . Greg lee joining us with more. You bet. The decision right is now no. At least for now. Senator warren says she needs to take a breath and think about what to do. No doubt her endorsement is much soughtafter, and shes already spoken to joe biden and Bernie Sanders. In a call with her staff she said our work continues, the fight goes on, and big dreams never die. I will not be running for president in 2020. But i guarantee i will stay in the fight. For the hardworking folks across this country. Reporter learnt Elizabeth Warren is suspending her campaign for president after breaking the news to her staff, want she told reporters in an at times emotional news conference. A progressive wing that Bernie Sanders is the incumbent for, and a moderate wing that joe biden is the incumbent for. And theres no room for anyone nels this. I thought that wasnt right. But evidently, i was wrong. Reporter once considered a frontrunner, warren failed to gain any traction on super tuesday, even coming in third in her home state of massachusetts. When asked about potential endorsement, she said this. Lets take a deep breath and spend a little time on that. We dont have to decide right this minute. Reporter other Democratic Candidates reacted to her decision on twitter, calling her a fighter and thanking her for running. Everyone says whiner. And if you say no, about a bazillion women think what planet do you live on. Reporter Melinda Jackson believes the country is ready for a woman president. Just maybe not this year. She said warrens performance, Hillary Clintons run in 2016, and others like harris and klobuchar this year set the stage. Gender is always a factor with women candidates. But the more we see women running for Different Levels of office, the more familiar it becomes. And the less focused theyll be on just the fact that its a woman. With this race down to two viable candidates like you see on your screen, a contested convention becomes less likely because it is possible now for biden or sanders to hit the majority of delegates with the remaining primary. 1,991 delegates to have that majority needed for the nomination. Lets talk about Elizabeth Warren, leading the race here. Shes a progressive, Bernie Sanders is a progressive. Logic would tell you that a lot of those supporters might move over to Bernie Sanders but that may not be a given. Sure. And i think bernie may see a bump because of this. When you look at some of the polls, maybe only 60 go to Bernie Sanders. Our biggest right, now isnt necessarily who matches up with my ideology but someone who they think has the best chance of competing with President Trump. Lets talk about who Elizabeth Warren endorses. Theres one thing about who her supporters move to. Do you think see may just sit this one out . Thats the question. Is she gonna come out with an endorsement . She was quick to say several times today im not ready to do that. And i think biden and sanders have already called her, likely having conversations about how can we instill some of your ideology into our campaign in order to get to you come to our side . No doubt this that is a much soughtafter decision. I could potentially see her waiting until there is a nominee. It is clear she will have a place in whatever administration moving forward. The key test for the remaining candidates in the race, its going to be coming next tuesday when we have a whole lot more states who will be casting their ballots. I think key among them is michigan. Does Bernie Sanders have to win michigan to have a path moving forward . When were talking about momentum, that is a big one. And the governor just endorsed joe biden and that is a big play in that state. A swing state with a lot of delegates that could potentially play a role. And to give you a sewns of how important that state is, Bernie Sanders canceled a really in mississippi. And now hes going to michigan to talk to voters there. That is a huge one on the calendar for both men. Were already seeing some shifts in strategies leading up to to next tuesday because of last today. And more indication, and the lawmakers locally, said we want california on super tuesday. They got exactly what they wanted. Look at how many candidates. Seven candidates five days onning to just really three. That is a huge drop because of the number of delegates that were up for grabs on super tuesday. And chelsea gabbert . Still in it. Anybody know why . Your guess is as good as mine but well see. Absolutely. The bay area weather pattern changing around quite a bit. Yesterday we had the record temperatures well up boost average. Today a bit of a a cooldown. Here is our live camera. Looking toward some scattered low clouds out there in the distance. Average high for today is the low to mid60s. And temperatures actually cooling off a bit of a. So far the high today in santa rosa, only 70 degrees. San francisco downtown, 61. And oakland airplane, concord and san jose all around 66. A sharp dropoff in numbers for today. We are closer to the average. Heres the satellite. And for the past month or so, we have been pointing at storms in the pacific and saying the snrg going way up to our north. Finally a change here. A system here, and this will finally, of course, Northern California and the bay area by friday night and into saturday morning. Right now we still are tracking the scattered low clouds in the coast and around portions of the bay. And well check in on some of the current numbers out there. Still some 60s toward concord and fairfield. San jose at 65. San francisco 60. A cool 53 in pacifica. And santa rosa in the upper 50s. The departure from yesterday at this time, look at this. The doubledigit cooldown across a good portion of the bay area, especially santa rosa. 22 degrees cooler. Sfo 15 degrees cooler. And concord 15 degrees cooler. The cooldown has arrived. Here is our live camera looking toward sfo this afternoon with the low clouds and fog stubborn over the coast and near portions of the bay. Overnight low, clouding things up once again. Areas of fog and temperatures in the 40s to around 50 degrees. And thatll be in the forecast for tomorrow. And then still lot of clouds throughout the afternoon hours. No more 80s, no more 70s. Forecast highs tomorrow around 57 to 65 degrees. And we have an settlement agreement, shower chance. Look what happens into the weekend. This system comes on board. Coming up well talk more about this system and update your fiveday. All coming up in just a few minutes.
