happening today a california coalition will hold a day long event as supporters call -- governor newsom to give them a voice in decisions about the future of pg&e. groups involved herein cludewildfire survivors, advocates for the disabled, environmentalists, and laborer unions. they have a checklist required and some of the demands include worker and community controls, clean and renewable energy for everyone and corporate accountability. the democratic presidential candidates are back out there on the campaign trail this morning after a tight finish in new hampshire. carolyn joins us live >> klobuchar beating out senator elizabeth warren. candidates are already folk used on the future. former mayor mike bloomberg will campaign in tennessee today. >> he's also looking ahead to the general election as he opens the new hampshire campaign office. former president joe biden headed to south carolina even before tuesday's polls in new hampshire closed. >> tell them it ain't over, man, we're just getting started. >> reporter: klobuchar and butera so pleased both candidates announcing today they are adding staffers in nevada. they both february 22nd. the first test is that state in nevada but a lot of highs come march 3rd. any sense of what coming out of new hampshire feels like he or she will be number one here in the golden state? >> reporter: sanders is feeling really good about california because he's had the money all along, so he's had those staffers in california, and that's what counts. he's setting up those early supporters, that ground game. everything that matters. it seems almost sill tow talk about this handful of delegates coming out of this state. nine for sanders, six for klobuchar, and 13 states are voting on super tuesday. that is when this race will be made or broken. bloomberg of course pouring money into california and all over the country and he's poised to do pretty well. >> california no longer in june, so it will be a big super tuesday indeed. caroline is live this morning. before california and super tuesday, 36 delegates are up for nevada on saturday, february 22nd. south carolina holds the primary with 54 pledged delegates at insurance companies have not been resolved. a meeting is scheduled to get underway at the bottom of the hour that would greatly affect the bay bridge. ktvu's reporting on the transit meeting to discuss a bus-only lane on the span. >> reporter: by this time, traffic is easing up on the bay bridge, but it's a tough commute. officials say having a bus-only lane could help. this morning, the metropolitan transportation staff will present the bus-only lane on the bay bridge. reasons include moving more people in fewer cars, saving time on traveling, and accommodating the growing need for long distance commutes. traffic analysis found there is more congestion at approaches to the bridge during the am and pm peaks than on the bridge. so the highest priority with the projects like this would be to fix those hot spots most affecting bus movements at the west grand, 580s, and 80 approaches. there is support building for this. both ac transits and the board of directors approved resolutions to support a bus-only lane. the state assembly member also expressed interest in a legislative introduction. we've reached out to his office for details on what that could look like. we spoke to one owner who would prefer it's mixed use. >> maybe bus with let's say taxis, or uber. i think that will be perhaps more effective. >> the mercury news reports a couple possibilities. in the morning, there could be a lane to allow westbound buses to drive on the bridge's lower deck with the barrier to step rate them from eastbound traffic, and vice versa for the evening commute. another option would be to convert 1 of the lanes in each direction to a lane for car pools and buses. we're going to head into that meeting and we'll have an update for you ktvu at noon. fox 2 news. san francisco tops the list of the country's most expensive places to build. a report from the consulting company found construction costs in san francisco rose 7.8% last year. it now costs about $500 per for money to pay city residents when their cars are broken into. auto burglaries make up the largest number of crimes that directly affect people living in san francisco. last year there were more than 25,000 break-ins. the chronicle was asked for $1.5 million for the help for residents for shattered windows and help process the claims. the ntsb will release its findings into the investigation of a deadly crash involving a tesla in mountain view. the board released documents as part of its preliminary report into the crash two years ago. the tesla model x had the auto pilot function on when the vehicle slammed into a barrier on highway 101 killing the driver who was an apple engineer. he had earlier complained the auto pilot feature malfunctioned on that same stretch of highway, which is accused of discharging raw sewage into creeks. dangerous levels of e. coli and other pollutants and creeks in sunnyvale and mountain view. the group filed a lawsuit claiming it's leaking out of old
