In the sierra we have an advisory for winter travel. Snow levels expected to be around 6000 feet, 6500 feet and that will continue through the next few days. Reporter the shooting happened at 2 am on south white road at the entrance to Florence Court i spoke with people who work at these businesses and some neighbors. They told me what they saw and heard. About six shots in quick succession and shortly thereafter i heard a woman screaming and yelling down the street here. I tried poking my head out the door, i didnt see anything. And of course i was not interested in getting shot. I was just making tamales and i heard gunshots and we just started closing all the doors and locking all doors and making sure everybody inside was okay and then a homeless man came and said there was somebody dead on the floor and we call the cops. Reporter when Police Arrived they said they saw a man dead for one gunshot wound. Police set up a perimeter to search for the suspect. South white road between rose and east hills drive is blocked off. They have been questioning witnesses. Neighbors i talked to said police searched backyards and knocked on doors to see if people saw anything. An officer i talked with this morning said they had information the suspect may live in a house in the area. We do believe some type of argument occurred between the victim and a group of individuals so we are looking into that youre trying to determine the circumstances surrounding this homicide. Oakland police are increasing patrols near the west oakland card station where theyve seen an uptick in robberies. They say a combination of the sun going down earlier in the Holiday Season is a magnet for thieves who target people as they come out of the station.
