Once again, San Francisco congresswoman and House Speaker nancy pelosi expected to give an update on the impeachment process any minute now. Its it was scheduled for 6 00 you can see she is not up there yet and we will get a quick look at weather and traffic but we will go right back to that as soon as she comes up there to start speaking. Steve is right here talking about your weather and what to expect. It will probably happen in my weather. Right. Probably. Usually how it works. Morning fog a little sun clouds are coming in. And i would not be surprised if light rain develops in advance of that. The main system is tomorrow. Heaviest is north and this is going to be pretty strong carry into saturday and probably sunday morning. And some higher clouds in advance of that. And this one of those patterns where once it sets up, you are in between systems and can get light rain and some of that might be showing up already to the north. Thats just warm sector in advance of it. 50s on temps. Fog is a big story. Watch out some visibility quarter mile or less. Most locations are not too bad but theres pockets of it all the way down to san jose which is gone from a quarter mile to 8 or 10 miles. 50s and 60s on the temps. Bay bridge. Yeah. The approach is here. Lets go right to the east shore freeway where the fog you mentioned steve is going to be dense as you drive out towards the macarthur maze. You can see it. When you get to the bay bridge improved in the carpool lanes a crash that was blocking lanes for a bit and the traffic is a little slower than usual. Interstate 880 north and south is okay and driving on the bridges so far so good. Now things have not become very slow yet on the san mateo bridge. Now back to the desk. All right thanks. Vestigati fire that took the life of an elderly woman. The fire. Reporter good morning. Neighbors are stardont know th woman who lived in that house but of course, a very sad situation. I will step out of the way so you can see whats left of the home. Things have called down here in the last hour or so. But just about an hour ago there was a flareup inside the attic. Smoke was billowing out of that but now firefighters seem to have control over it. We will take you to video of what the scene looks like last night and breakdown exactly what we know so far. The fire on the corner of chase and Cherry Street in novato was reported by someone passing by about 10 30 last night. The caller said there was heavy fire and smoke pouring from the windows and attic. Novato Fire Protection district chief said n who lived alone in the house sadly died. When fire crews found her, they brought her outside to give her cpr but she did die from her injuries. Chief tyler said she was out earlier in the day and dropped off at home and thats when she was last seen. One neighbor we spoke with says the woman didnt go out often but people would take her shopping from time to time. This has not been an easy fire fight because crews sifted through a lot of belongings to get the fire under control. We are told its hard enough for Fire Fighters to get in a home with smoke and fire but the woman had more items than what would normally be used in a home. So it was tough to navigate. We heard from one of the womens neighbors who says she didnt even think anyone lived in the home. It was always dark. Just dark never saw anyone going in and out and about everybody you see someone walking around. I am sorry it happened. Reporter a lot of shock as neighbors are waving up this morning and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. In know vatta sara zendehnam. We want to go back to washington, d. C. Now because House Speaker pelosi is speaking now about the impeachment inquiry. Lets listen in. S listen in. The kings refusal to follow rightfully passed laws in the course todays event it becomes necessary for us to address among other grief ands the president s failure to faithly execute the law. When crafting the constitution, the founders feared the return of a monarchy in america. And having just fought a war ofindependence they feared that the prospect of a king president corrupted by foreign influence. During the constitutional convention, james madison, the actor text of the constitution warned a president might be betray his trust to foreign powers which might prove fatal to the republic. Another founder of governor morris feared a president may be bribed by a greater interest to betray his trust. He emphasized that this magistrate is not a king. And the people are the king. And they therefore created a constitutional remedy to protect against the dangerous or corrupt leader. Impeachment. Unless contusion contains an impeachment provision one founder warned, a president might spare no effort or means whatsoever to get himself reelected. Similar arely, george mason insisted that a president who procured has appointment in the first instant through improper and corrupt acts might repeat his guilt and return to power. During the debate over impeachment as constitutional convention, george mason also asked shall anyman be above justice . Shall that man be above it who can commit the most extensive injustice. In his wisdom he knew injustice committed by the president erodes the rule of law. The very idea that a fair justice which is the bedrock of our democracy. And if we allow a president to be above the law, we do so surely at the peril of our republic. And in america, no one is above the law. Over the past few weeks, through the intelligence a Foreign Affairs oversight committees, the American People have heard the testimony of truly patriotic career Public Servants disterchg wicked diplomats and war heroes some of the president s own appointees. The facts are uncontested. The president abused his power for his own personal political benefit at the expense of our National Security by withholding military aid and crucial Oval Office Meeting in exchange for an announcement of investigation into his political rival. Yesterday, the Judiciary Committee the American People heard testimony from leading american constitutional scholars who say the d said without a doubt the president s actions are a violation of the public trust. The president s action have seriously violated the constitution. Especially when he says an acts on the belief article 2 says i can do whatever i want. No. His wrongdoing strikes at the heart of our constitution. A separation of powers. Three coequal branches each a check and balance on the other. A republic if we can keep it said ben ming franklin. Our democracy is what is at stake. The president leads us no choice but to act because he is trying to corrupt once again the election for his own benefit. The president has engaged in abuse of power undermining our National Security and jeopardizing the integrity of the elections. His actions are in defiance of the vision of our founders. And the oath of office he takes to preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the united states. Sadly, with confidence and humility with allegiance to the founders, and our heart full of love for america, today i am asking our chairman to proceed with articles of impeachment. I commend our mithe some beer approach to actions which i wish the president had not made necessary. In signing the declaration of independence, our founders invoked a Firm Reliance on divine providence. Democrats too are prayerful and we will proceed in a matter worthy of our oath of office to support and defensed the constitution of the united states. From all enemies foreign and domestic. So help us god. Thank you. We are listening in live to House Speaker nancy pelosi talking about the impeachment hearings, a couple of things she said his wrongdoing strikes at the heart of our constitution. She brought up the founding fathers, and she talked about the concerns about a king president. She said they feared that president s might be bribed and said the people are the kings. So, again we are we have listened in nancy pelosi recommending to proceed with the impeachment of President Trump we will continue to follow this throughout the morning here on mornings on 2.
