The second round of public impeachment hearings are now underway in washington dc. Already there have been some tense moments. The former Us Ambassador to ukraine who was fired by president donald j. In other news, five people were arrested in connection with a deadly halloween night shooting at an air b b rental in orlando where five people were killed. Search warrants were served yesterday in our vincente, vallejo, antioch and san mateo. Four suspects were arrested on suspicion of murder. They include 28yearold lebron wallops from san mateo, 20 or duck has sweeney of marin city, 20yearold jason iles, also of marin city, and 30yearold chevron mitchell of antioch. A fifth suspect, 21yearold Devon Williamson, of vallejo, was arrested as an alleged accessory. The Tactical Unit from the contra county Sheriffs Office made the arrest while carrying out that rate at an apartment in marin city. The former suspects are being held without bail. The assessor he suspects bail is set at 500,000. The Orinda Police department has been criticized about the way it has handled the case, but the mayor of orlando says Law Enforcement has put a lot of resources into this investigation. However, somewhere in the residence say it will take more than the arrest to get them back a sense of peace. They want the city to consider tougher regulations or maybe even an outright ban on short term rentals. Time now is 7107. The Investigation Continues this morning in Southern California, where investigators say a teenager open fire on his classmates. Authorities have identified the shooter as a 16yearold boy, a student at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita. They say he shot and killed two students and wounded three others before turning the gun on himself. He is listed in Critical Condition this morning. Investigators are still looking for a motive. It was probably the scariest moment of my life respecting her two or three shots, and i just saw everyone running out. What did you think when that happened . I was just confused because it was so surreal. It sounded like a really big balloon pop that way louder. Authorities say the gunman opened fire went was shooting randomly. Yesterday was his 16th birthday. Investigators are talking to his mother and girlfriend. As they try to learn a motive for the shooting. Time now 7 07. The Santa Clarita shooting victims are being mourned all over that community. Last night, students, parents, educators held this candlelight vigil in a park. Santa clarita is 40 minutes north of la. It is the third biggest city in los angeles county, and this vigil gave people a chance to come for each other. It is unbelievable. I cannot even put into words that this happened in my community. Just why . Why did this happen here . Why did this happen in our closeknit community . Why . And is he, was he okay, like is there anything we could have done to help him . A former student at Saugus High School where the shooting occurred planning an even bigger vigil sunday night. And local churches are also holding prayer services. The school promised three years ago to create a plaque with a quote from the assault survivor, chanelle miller. Stanford administrators initially rejected a quote that was taken from her victim impact statement. Eventually, the school bowed to pressure from students and faculty. Without that plaque, its really hard to understand what the context is for this space, its just a nice garden, whats going on. You cant change history. All you can do is learn from it and what stanford some lard from the situation is, that censorship and silencing are never the right answer. And you have to keep your promises. Several different Fire Agencies are using weather for a prescribed burn in marin the moraga area. Firefighters will burn through 12 acres on the east side of the san pablo reservoir. Yesterdays controlled burn was in the Painted Rocks section of the john your land trust. The idea behind the burns is to cut down on the fuel that could come feed and uncontrollable wildfire. If this were a monday, it would be an hour and a half, but since it is friday, the volume is lighter. When you get to the bay bridge it is about a 15 to 20 minute delay. Theres a little bit of the edge taken off on a friday. There is still some slow traffic out there on all these commutes but it seems a little better than normal. You can see in these pictures weeded out by squaw valley out by meadows, the crews are working preparing for opening day. There is dirt out there but they are getting ready. Starting today the resort plans to have kangaroo open at alpine meadows, and the First Venture run open at squaw valley. They will both be open from nine in the morning until 4 00 this afternoon, so you can make it up there. I will drive you, and i will wait in the lodge while you ski. And sip on some hot chocolate. Two weeks after a deadly halloween shooting in orinda, five men are under arrest this morning in connection with the attack that happened inside a home that was rented out through air b b and left five people dead. In this investigation widespread throughout the bay area. Here is a map. Yesterday were search warrants were served in marin city, vallejo, antioch, and san mateo. Here are the names of those five men. 28yearold Lebron Wallace out of san mateo, 20yearold Jackie Sweeney of marin city. 20yearold jason ellis of marin city, wallace of antioch and 21yearold Devon Williamson. He is from vallejo and he was the one arrested for being an alleged accessory. Tactical units from Contra Costa County Sheriffs Department making the arrest yesterday while carrying out raids. Here the video is marin city. The former the suspects are being held without bail. The ss three suspect bail is a half 1 million. Orinda Police Department has been heavily criticized for the way they handled this case, but the citys mayor says, Law Enforcement has put a lot of resources into this twoweek investigation. I dont know if there is a sense of relief or not. This is the beginning of a process of judicial, criminal proceedings with regard to these five individuals. Reporter some orinda residents say it will take more than the arrest of these five men to restore their sense of peace in town. They would like city to look into stricter regulations, or even an outright ban of short term rentals. Now, sources tell ktvu there have been some sort of fight between two rival groups, one based in San Francisco, the other in marin city. These groups were among the hundred partygoers that attended that party on halloween two weeks ago in orlando. Sources also tell us, some sort of argument or fight broke out in the kitchen there, and that is when the guns were drawn. For men being held here in martinez will be in court next week. Authorities in Santa Clarita still searching for a motive for yesterdays mass shooting at Saugus High School, where two people were killed. A student who turned 16 yesterday shot and killed two classmates, wounded three others, then shot himself. He is still alive, but in Critical Condition. Surveillance video shows the entire shooting rampage only lasted 16 seconds. Meantime, governor gavin newsom blames the nra and Republican Leaders for holding up gun control efforts and preventing more mass shootings.
