I felt this was a bail motion that had merit because Derick Almena never intended to hurt anybody. At night before fridays hearing Derick Almenas wife and friends gathered to light candles, incense and meditate hoping to send him good energy. Allison showed up in court to support her husband. It is really important for me for people to know that there are people all over the world praying for our family. And that they want to see him come home to his children. For families of the ghost ship victims who will never come home, they say they are pleased to Derick Almena will face trial again. I will feel stronger when the next trial begins and i will be there as an advocate for my daughter and that is important to me. Today the judge held two former ghost ship jurors in content contempt for misconduct. Next year a whole new jury will have to be picked. A whole new jury that has no idea about anything that happened with this trial which might be difficult. I am curious though, 10 of the 12 jurors were ready to convict. Why does he think that his chances are so great going in this next time around . He noted that three jurors were booted for misconduct. Two of them he believes were squarely in his corner. He told us from jail that he just needs one juror to be convinced of his innocence. If that person sticks to their guns there is another mistrial and that is it. He will go home. He also said Derick Almenas attorney may be seriously considering a plea bargain despite his Public Comments indicating otherwise.
