You can see thousands of people running down the streets of San Francisco. Were right in front of the park. Such a cool event going on here this morning. There is a 5k also that kicks off at 10 50 a. M. For now, the runners that you are seeing are running a 10k and a Half Marathon. There is a kid and family race that people are participating in here today, too. Now, all of the races start here, and the route takes runners along the water. It is a beautiful way to see the city and just some exercise in this sunday morning. And an Important Note for drivers in this area. Streets will be closed and muny will reroute around the race. South of market, north beach, russian hill, the ma rona, will all be affected until about 2 00 p. M. So really try to avoid the area until then. And this is the 10th year of this event, so there are are a lot of celebrations going on here today. Runners get to wear an Anniversary Logo on their race gear, and the park is hosting different special vents to honor people who have participated in the last decade of races. Back out here live, you can see all of these runners making their way past the park. These are dedicated people. They are running Half Marathons and 10ks here this morning. Just be aware there are going to be road closures and muny will be rerouted for the next few hours just until about 2 00. If you have any plans, just be aware of that. The chp says before the accident, it was reported that a person was walking on the righthand shoulder against trafficker and close to a slow lane. A rain suspect is in the county jail after a sixhour standoff. Police got a call from a woman who said she had been kidnapped and rained at gunpoint yesterday afternoon. When officers went to the house, the suspect ran out and hid in a nearby home. 41 year old coal of oakland refused to come out for several hours but he was taken into custody at about 8 30 last night. Witnesses say he appeared to be asian, about 5 5 inches tall. Maybe about 130 pounds. After a teller met his demand for the money reportedly, he rode away from the bank on a red mountain bike. The Red Bank Fire is now 15 contained. The fire which is west of red bluff was started by lightning yesterday afternoon. It has burned 14 squire miles and has forced the evacuation of some communities. There is the let of more evacuations if the wind picks up. Cal fire is planning on setting up air fanningers to help battle the flames. Fire clues are already assisting with the firefights. Oakland has invested millions of dollars to house some of the homeless in sheds. A new project will create the countrys first Tiny Home Community for Homeless Youth. Within minutes, frames went up and the vision came together. These tiny homes are built fast with hundreds of volunteers from 30 diverse congregation and organizations lending a hand. It is a Good Opportunity to come out and help the community and it is fun overall. People are desperate to do something to solve this problem and sick of waiting for solutions that are taking too long to come. They are building the tiny homes for homeless young people age 18 to 25. Some of the youth are going to go to college. Some are going to be working. Some are going to be doing both. The project is attracting volunteers from around the country. A friend of mine tagged me on a post dealing with the drill to empower those people who dont identify as male to be more confident and confident using power tools. This is awesome. We should have them come to denver. Instead, sunny shields flew to oakland to work on on the tiny homes project. Doing Something Like this is so cool. It is an opportunity for empower other women and queerfolk and transfolk which make up the majority of our Homeless Youth population anyway. The project is set to be complete in july of 2020. That is when people are said to move in. When they do, this is going to be first tiny home village for youth in america. Nonprofit youth spirit artwork is organizing the project with the help from a 360,000 grant from the city of oakland. It is fantastic. Oakland has really been innovative and taking leadership in supporting this youthlead initiative to help solve the crisis of Youth Homeless in the bay area. Youthshared artwork is working with oakland city chapel to find a permanent site for the tiny home village which will include Community Bathrooms and a security guard. The organization is fund raising to construct 12 more tiny homes for oaklands use. Ktvu, fox news. Taking over the streets in San Franciscos north beach neighborhood.
