You both capture that first jog. She is plodding along the sidewalk, to everything she can to make it a 10th of a mile. Some others, fit people just sailing pastor. How did you all decide to shoot that in a way that doesnt beat down brittany, but it really shows the real feeling of this is my first jog. In trying to sort of draw a parallel between the run that we are facing in our lives, its that first step, how intimidating it can be, and how vulnerable it can be to finally choose a goal for yourself. That specific scene was filmed like a horror film because thats what it feels like. It feels terrifying and scary and like you never know where that threat is going to come from, but its all part of a deeper exploration of the woman, relationship with herself, and how she can change a toxic mindset and talk to behavior in order to fall in love with her so. Jillian, you actually took part of this film in a number of ways, one of which if you actually did it. You did the running, lost 40 pounds. I lost 40 pounds. I just thought it would connect me to the character. Did you have emotions that you hadnt have in your life before . 100 . It really changed my life. Yeah, the idea is that she starts to focus on the weight, and the weight is not really what the story is about, and its part of our way into the story, but really its about jillian said choosing her own values, so rather than showing the happy ending where shes reached her goal and she looks the way she was a look, thats actually the part word surgical wrong with the character. Were it was funny and fun and inspirational with characters that people loved watching, it was also a little challenging, and a little surprising. Very surprising, and take you down the path you want quite expecting it to go. I didnt really understand her relationships with men, for example, until you see what she is so used to doing and being, and she doesnt as a skinny girl, and you like that is wrong. Just the shift that she has, and i dont need to do this to be accepted. Shes finding herself. This is really a story about growing pains and growing up and how hard it can be, you know . And it is so interesting because i think that when paul wrote it, we talked about how does that home for a lot of millennial women, and that as weve been showing it, more men and women of all ages have been relating and saying thats me, and those are my struggles, and i feel seen.
