That lawsuit challenges the Trump Administrations new rule that bypasses a court order that says children cant be detained for more than 20 days. State attorney general said that the new detention rules allowing families to be held indefinitely would cause harm to children. The Trump Administration is Holding Children and families in jail like conditions for weeks. These are individuals and certainly children who have not committed any criminal violation. They are being held without sufficient food, health or even medical care. Now an immigration official described the new rule for detaining children longer than 20 days as a way to keep Families Together while they wait for a court ruling. The trial for the man accused of killing a Police Sergeant has been delayed until the end of next month. He faces the Death Penalty for shooting and killing a sergeant during a traffic stop four years ago. His trial started yesterday but as soon as it started the judge continued the case until september 30th. The judge said he is starting a trial in another case and waiting for a state ruling that could put a stop to capitol punishment. The state Supreme Court is making easier for a suspect to get information about an arresting officers history of misconduct. The justices said a suspects right to airfare trial out weighs the privacy rights of the officer who has been accused of taking bribes, tampering with evidence, lying or using excessive force. Based on the ruling an officers credibility could be challenged. It stems from a Lower Court Decision that barred giving the names of deputies accused of improper conduct. The family of a disabled man who has shot and killed by an off duty la Police Officer is speaking out for the First Time Since it happened back in june. Kenneth french was shot at a cosco in corona. He was killed by officer salvador sanchez. His family were also hurt in the shooting. The familys lawyer is demand that the Police Release the video from cosco. In my opinion this is one of the most egregious shootings that i have seen. The reason is you are only supposed to use deadly force in a life threatening situation. Essentially when you are about to be killed. A push or shove or even a punch does not justify the use of deadly force. Particularly for a trained lapd officer who should know better. After hearing the officer identity himself as a Police Officer i begged and told him not to shoot. I said we have no guns and my son is sick. He still shot. I thought people dont do that. Now the attorney for the officer said that his client was facing a life threatening attack by french. A community in san jose is divided over a plan to build a newhouseing project to help homeless. City leaders held a meeting last flight to hear from both sides. The project is to turn a city owned lot on 4th street and younger into a four story Apartment Building to lease to Homeless People 55 years and older. The project is close to an Elementary School and the community worry itself will increase crime. City leaders say homelessness in san jose is growing at ana alarming rate. What it is, its not a shelter. Its not food bank. Its apartments. We need them so desperate desperately. We grew by 2,000 homeless in the city. Yet we only opened up a couple hundred units of supportive housing. I know that its the right thing to do. To put this facility in the location they are proposing, i dont think its a wise choice. The location was specifically selected since half of san joses meless are in downtown and the that particular district. The project is in its early stages. It still needs to go before the planning commission. If approved the earliest it could break ground is next year. West oakland is getting a new Affordable Housing com flex complex and itll be ready faster than you may think. Its a five story project called the union. Its going up now on 5th street. It should be done in about ten days. Normally it would take a year to complete. The pieces are premade, they are put together at a factory in vallejo and then driven by truck to the building site. That means less of a nuisance for the surrounding neighborhood and cheaper rents available for tenants at a time when more housing is needed. You will see much less impact with trucks, people parking. You can build 30 more apartments or have lieuer rent or both. Now the west Oakland Building the first local project produced completely. Monthly rents will range from 1,800 a month for a studio to 2,800 for a two bedroom part. Tenants should move in by the end of this year. This week the governor is traveling around the state to highlight the new program that would provide two free years of Community College. Today the governor will visit a college in sacramento. How does it look so far its warming up. Its not really slow in many areas. Right now we have some slow traffic pam and dave. Lets start off with the pass. Our friends who come in and to that tracy super commute can rely on the slow traffic that we have here at the pass on 205 and 580. Then after you get over the pass and you come down the hill to livermore it looks clear from livermore all the way over to Castro Valley and it continues to look good. There have been no major problems. This is 880 northbound. You can see they are still working on some of the nes. Theres not a big slow down  because its so early but people are narrowing down to a couple of lanes and you can see the ride going on. The pavement is smooth now. They are have to put those the lines and the dots down. This freeway has come a long way in the last year or so. This is a look at westbound bay bridge. Thats backed up to a small delay at the toll plaza. We will get light right to it. Hot for some. It looks a little cooler today. The more fog some of that sfo and the background.
