You can see the south bay commute is getting slow, northbound 101, near trimble road, they are clearing an accident near the airport, that is why traffic is especially bad on 101, 280 is also slow this morning, as people are avoiding 101. An investigation is underway in the south bay after a round of latenight gun fire, it happened in the area near richmond avenue and scott street in san jose. You can still see some of the damage left behind. Reporter yes, good morning to you, we are getting a better idea of what happened, after talking to some neighbors and seeing the damage left behind come you can see a windshield that has been pierced by bullets overnight, and if you cross the street, there is also reports that a person was shot in this driveway, and there are also bullet piercings on the back bumper of a car as well as all the way down to the garage door. This is all at the corner of richmond avenue and scott street in san jose. It is unclear what prompted the gunfire, but we know that shots were fired around 10 30 last night. Again, happening here in this neighborhood of san jose, but the Santa Clara CountySheriffs Office was the investigating agency who came out, they were checking the sidewalks, bushes, looking for any kind of evidence. One of the neighbors tells us, he heard about four shots and hurt somebody yelling in pain. He also heard from another neighbor that the victim was possibly trying to jump the fence and the shooter drove away in a car. It was pretty unnerving, because if you are in bed, and you hear those shots, the bullets can fly through the walls. One of them could hit me while i am asleep. Reporter at this point, the sheriffs deputies are not releasing too much information, only, we only know from last night that they were out here in this neighborhood looking at the bullet casings, or looking at casings rather from the bullets, and trying to gather any information about what exactly happened here. The video also showed two people that were detained, it is unclear at this point if those people ended up getting arrested or if they were released, it is unclear whether or not the person who was supposedly shot went to the hospital at all, these are questions that have yet to be answered this morning from the Santa Clara CountySheriffs Office. Within the last five minutes, we spoke to a woman who arrives here, she says her mother opened the door last night and saw someone that have been shot saying, they are trying to kill me, and tried to jump over the fence. We are learning more about what San Jose Police are calling one of the deadliest crimes in the history of san jose. As we told you yesterday, a gunman fatally shot four people before killing himself at a home on habits court in South Central san jose, now police are investigating this as a domestic dispute. It happened, it took all day for the police to collect evidence at the home and also questioned neighbors. They are not releasing the names, but they say there is no history of Domestic Violence among them. They are still trying to figure out how the shooting started. A neighbor who did not want to be identified told us he heard a loud argument, then he heard gunfire and made sure his own family was safe. The wife jumped the fence and ran into my house. Then, she locked the door in my kids room while we were in the master bedroom. And i ran outside and i closed the other door. Then i saw him asking, looking for his wife. Two other people who were shot managed to escape, but they died later at the hospital. And, two women and the suspected gunmen were found dead inside the home. The police told us, they have talked to the gunmans wife, daughter, and niece who all escaped. The city of oakland will debate the issue of facial Recognition Software today, one month after San Francisco became the first city in the country to be on the technology. Tonight, the Safety Committee is set to debate a similar ban. Berkeley city council will consider a similar band next month. Also happening today, the San Francisco board of supervisors will take a final vote about banning the sale of ecigarettes, that includes sales at brickandmortar stores, as well as online sales, it could be lifted pending an fda assessment about the health risk of vaping. A man convicted of using forced labor in the south bay, and imprisoning workers at a construction site is due to be sentenced today.
