But we do know this homicide is possibly related to monday nights homicide and there is a potential suspect in custody. Thats according to the San Mateo County Sheriffs Office. We dont know if that person is being questioned about both homicides or just this most recent one. Youre looking at video from yesterdays scene here. This situation started monday night. The Sheriffs Office says a deputy was at an unrelated call near el corda madero creek. Investigators spent Tuesday Morning collecting evidence and searching for a suspect in this unincorporated area of the county. Grass for this morning skyline is shut down between sweat road and reeds roost road. It did take them about 12 hours to wrap up their investigation yesterday before reopening the roads. We do have some developing news out of Santa Clara County this morning where the chp is investigating two more freeway shootings. Investigators receiving a report several shots being fired at a car headed southbound on interstate 680 near the king street area. At about 8 30 last night. No one directly hit by the gunfire. But a 12yearold girl in the car was injured by some broken glass. Chp still working to get an accurate description of that suspects car. The second shooting happened on highway 17 at los gatos and the transitions to northbound highway 85. Chp received reports of a driver who came in contact with another car and he heard a thud. When the man arrived home he noticed the damage to his car and he called chp and Officers Determined the damage was actually a bullet hole. No freeways were shut down during the investigations. There have been 5 different freeway shootings across the bay area now in the past few days. On saturday, a man died after being shot on interstate 80 near the 505 split. Then on sunday night two people were shot inside the caldicot tunnel and then monday night a south bay man shot and killed on 680 near the san jose boundary. Thats 5 shootings, 4 days, in total two people have died. We asked chp if drivers should be worried. We dont have any information right now that suggests that the general public should be concerned or at an elevated level of risk while driving on the freeways. Chp says the number of freeway shootings has increased in recent years. We couldnt get a detailed report on the number for this year. The Highway Patrol has investigated at least 190 bay area freeway shootings since november of 2015. 11 people have died in those shootings. Pg e has agreed to pay 1 billion to 14 Northern California cities and counties where its equipment sparked wild fires. The money will include money for sonoma, napa, and lake counties as well as the cities of napa, santa rosa and clear lake. Now the settlement calls for 9 north bay cities and counties to receive a total of 415 million. The town of paradise which was devastated by the camp fire is set to receive 247 million. 47 million is designated for the paradise recreation and parks district. A separate 252 million is allocated for butte county where paradise is located.
