New this morning, San Mateo CountySheriffs Office is investigating a second homicide on skyline boulevard just west of woodside just a day after a mans body was found in a similar location. Well we are working to get more details of course right now limited information. But were on the corner of skyline and flood right now. Chp is blocking the road. Now the San Mateo CountySheriffs Office says that this homicide is possibly related to monday nights homicide here on skyline boulevard. Investigators say they have a potential suspect in custody but we dont know if that person is being questioned about both homicides or just this recent one. Youre looking at video from yesterdays scene here. On monday night the Sheriffs Office says the deputy was at an unrelated call and found the body of 32yearold abdul malik nashir. Skyline is shut down between sweat road and reeds roost road. We dont know when officers will clear out but yesterday it took them about 12 hours to wrap up their investigation before reopening the road. If you have any information, the San Mateo CountySheriffs Office does want you to call them with that information and were expecting to get more information soon here. We were just told they are expecting to do a News Conference within the next hour or so. So hopefully the next time you see us well have more information to share. Investigators received a report of several shots being fired at a car headed southbound near king street at about 8 30 last night. A 12yearold girl in the car was hurt by broken glass. The chp is still working to get an accurate description of the suspects car. Now the second shooting happened on southbound highway 17 in los gatos at the transition to northbound 85. The chp received a report from a driver who said his car quote, came into contact with another car and he herd a thud. When the man arrived home he noticed damage to his car and called chp. Officers determined it was a bullet hole. No one was hurt in that incident and no freeways are shut down in those investigations. There have area. Saturday a man died after being shot on interstate 80 near the 505 split. Two people are recovering from their injuries in a shooting on sunday night. Monday night a south bay man was shot and killed on the 680. Thats 5 shootings in four days. In total two people have died. Three more were injured. We asked the chp if drivers should be worried. We dont have information that the general public should be concerned or at an elevated level of risk while driving on the freeways. The chp says the number of freeway shootings has increased in recent years. We couldnt get a detailed report on the numbers this year but the chp says it has investigated 190 bay area freeway shootings since november 2015. 11 people have died incidents. It still needs another approval from therd and the mayors signature before becoming law. The supervisors also voted in favor of another measure that would ban the sale and manufacturing of ecigarettes on any cityowned property. The supervisors say theyre considering ways to support those businesses through Tax Exemptions or other revenue sources.
