in black marker, cal will be shot up 5-9, final warning. it >> it's pretty scary, think in your school could be shot up like that. >> reporter: many students found out about the front written in the boys bathroom of the world language building from their parents. the school district as a student founded around 11:30 wednesday morning. and reported to a staff member, law enforcement was notified, then parents in an email the district rights, there is nothing more important to us than the safety of your students, and the cal high staffing campus. we are grateful that once again, a student did the right thing. >> it's worrying as a parent, always worried. that is why i am always praying for the safety of everyone. >> reporter: this is not the first time come april 2018, a freshman was arrested for planning a school shooting at cal high on the anniversary of columbine back in september, and anonymous threatthey're bei funny by making people scared or something that's not funny. >> i will be on heightened alert. >> reporter: parents wondering if they should go to school. police are interviewing students and have found no other evidence to support the threat. >> we take these things very seriously. we will be there at the school, as we always are. extra people there. >> the school district tells me it has instituted an anonymous tip line, and hired a safety coordinator. so far, police tell me they have no leads. is a parent of a highschooler, i can certainly understand, saying i am not sure i would send my kid to school on may 9, we heard from that one parent, did you tonight, thank you. denied a college student package is being called a hero for saving lives during a shooting yesterday at the university of north carolina at charlotte. police say the gunman is a former student identified as 22- year-old tristan andrew terrel. he entered an anthropology class with a pistol and opened fire. the two male students were killed and four others were wounded. one of the victims, 21-year-old riley howell tackled the gunman, helping others to escape. >> but for his work, the assailant may not have been disarmed. unfortunately, he gave his life in the process. >> reporter: authorities charged terrel with two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. he is due in court tomod, polic investigating a homicide after a shooting this afternoon, it happened just before park. when police arrived they said they found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. sky fox was over the scene a short time later you can see the crime scene tape around the area. also, a number of police cars and evidence markers in the street. the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. in san francisco, police are investigating a deadly shooting which have been in the mission district, officers responded to a shot spotter activation just after four clock this afternoon near 20,000 and bar clusters. when they arrived they found a male victim on the ground, he was taken to the hospital where he ended up dying. sends us police say a pedestrian is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries tonight after being hit by a truck. it happened at a busy intersection today near the ucsf medical center at mount zion. first responders were called to sutter street just this morning police say the truck driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative. pedestrian and bicycle safety efforts block traffic on part of san francisco's market street. they say the streets through the heart of the city is not safe for people walking o'er on bikes and they are calling for an immediate ban on private vehicles. jana katsuyama joins us live along market street. the city is already considering a ban. >> reporter: they are, it is called the better market street , juliet is in the works right now but protesters say market street is just a mess with vehicles stopping different places, they say the city should act a coalition of pedestrian safety, bicycle, and public transit advocates woalon crosswalk blocking cars from turning onto market street. they say private vehicles should be banned for public safety. >> project which bans cards on one stretch. and san francisco's better market street project made up of multiple agencies has called for only allowing access for meanies, taxes, delivery trucks and which would define how and where commercial cannabis could be sold. >> someone comes to you and wants to do this, they want to help you and a friend to the town. >> reporter: critics want none of it, alarmed about drug abuse in young people. >> there telling citizens as a whole that it is an accepted product, that it is okay. >> reporter: fairfax is now poised to allow at least two cannabis stores. this pioneering dispensary hopes to be one of them, and fairfax would be the first marin jurisdiction with brick and mortar marijuana. in a county where three out of four voters said yes to game it was her last public appearance as chief after 30 years at her apartment, she is retiring. it is surreal right now, there have been long days, but generally the years have flown. despite how are you doing? >> the longest serving fire chief of any serving city. bruce pesci gave her a giants jersey, she gifted him a fire helmet. >> the pride that i have in this job in this department, i
