It should not be impacting travel. We saw quite a few delays involving southwest flights. Here are the carriers that were impacted. Southwest, united, jet blue, alaska, and delta. The faa explained the issue saying several airlines are experiencing issues with a flight wait and balance program, aeroo data. Regional operations were impacted to various degrees. I met a man from chicago who said his flight was supposed to be at 8 20 and it was pushed back. I just want to get home. Hopefully i will be out of here by 8 30. Charges stem from the time he was a priest in san lorenzo. The alleged abuse started in 2016 and continued for 18 months involving a young teenager. A murin county man was arrested in south america accused of travelling to colombia to have sex with minors. He was arrested soon after arriving. Investigators say he used facebook to offer girls between 13 and 17 years old up to 100 for sexual acts. He is also accused of sharing explicit photos and pornographic materials with them. 35yearold fred i bonny works add the smoking pig restaurant. He went down the street to dennys after his shift for a late night dinner on sunday morning. He saw a man being aggressive to an employee and he decided to stand up for the workers. Then the man punched him in the face. He was hospitalized with a fractured nose and two of his teeth were knocked out. The man took off before police could identify him. Door dash says they are investigating. Police hope to get Surveillance Video from other businesses to identify the attackers car. San Francisco Police are looking for an attacker who had a sword and was wearing a make America Great again hat as he slashed a man with a sword. It happened friday night at oak and fill more at the western addition. The victim said that the hat flew off of his head during a heated argument moments before the victim was stabbed. Witnesses say the man also yelled homophobic slurs. He was white. He had darker squarish glasses. He had darker hair, kind of down to his ears, a little wavy. I described it to the police as he kind of resemibled frank from 30 rock but a little skinnier. Police say the attacker ran away. The victim was treated for a stab wound on his hand. No word on a possible motive. Los Angeles Police are still looking for a man responsible for an attack at rogers stadium. The victim is on life support now at umc medical center. Walking in there and seeing my husband, they had to pull me out of the room right away because he was struggling to breathe. The wife of the victim, rafael raina is now pleading with the public to help catch her husbands attacker. Raina was leaving the stadium after the dodgers game with the diamondbacks when he got into an argument that turned violent. He suffered a fractured skull. Seeing him connected to all of the tubes and machines, i dont how do you obsorb that . Rainas wife and the couples four children have been at his bedicize for the past two days. It happens two years after a man attacked brine stow outside of dodgers stadium. Stow suffered a serious brain injury and now is permanently disabled as a result of the beating. Another race horse has died at the santa anita race track. A horse named arm runner injured his right front leg and was later euthanized. Since december, 23 race horses have died at that track. The new smilway at the orville dam will be used for the first time. The department of Water Resources says it will allow water to run down as soon as tomorrow. I inadvertently said the income tax going into the break and i meant sales tax. This applies to the sales tax if you shop online and in five cities in the bay area. Your local taxes are going to go up. Your local sales taxes will go up and here it is on the screen, the cities. Alameda is jumping from 9. 25 to 9. 75. The other cities, antioch, martinez, red wood cities rounding out the list. Additionally, california and 29 other states are requiring out of state retailers previously exempt from paying sales tax, now they have to pay for it. So when you are shopping online, you will see that the sales tax for california added into the final price. Previously, you paid the tax if the business you made the purchase from had a presence in this state. Governor Gavin Newsome expects this will generate 219 million in revenue for the state from now until the end of the fiscal jeer, june 30th. The next fiscal year, 554 million. Brick and mortar retailers say this levels the Playing Field since customers can no longer avoid paying the state sales tax while shopping online. Investigators have not said if the two incidents are related. A man is recovering after his home caught fire in santa rosa. This video shows flames shooting through the roof of the home on College Avenue near glenn street yesterday morning. Firefighters arrived shortly after the flames broke out. Some airports are seeing delays such as chicago, new york city, boston, atlanta and detroit. There was a computer glitch that delayed hundreds of flights. Several airlines were experiencing problems with a weight balance program. Region operations were impacted to various degrees. Those affected were southwest, united, delta, alaska, and yet blue. This morning i met a man from atlanta who said his flight was delayed 2 hours and he was not given a reason why. And just want to get home. It has been a long wait. Fred i bonny says he went to dennys to have a late night dinner after his shift. He saw a door dash courier being verbally abusive to some dennys employees and decided to stick up for them. Thats when the man punched him in the face. I bonny was hospitalized with a fractured nose and two of his teeth were knocked out. The door dash came in and he was angry that they were not taking care of him right away. Police say the attacker took off before anyone could identify him. Door dash says it is investigating the situation. Police hope to get Surveillance Video from nearby businesses to find the suspect pfrs car. San Francisco Police are searching for a man who stabbed a man with a sword. Investigators say the suspect was wearing a make America Great again hat that flew off of his head in the heated argument moments before the victim was scabbed. Wets say the attacker had also been yelling homophobic slurs. He was white, he had darker squarish glasses. He had darker hair that was down to his ears, a little wavy. I described it to the police as he kind of resembled frank from 30 rock but a little skinnier. Police say the attacker ran from the scene. The victim was treated for a stab wound to his hand. There is no word on a motive for the attack. Police are still searching for the man responsible for a vicious attack in the parking lot behind dodgers stadium. The victim is in life support. Walking in there and seeing my husband, they had to pull me out of the room right away because he was struggling to breathe. Rafael rainas wife is pleading with the public to help catch her husbands attacker. It happened early saturday morning. Raina was leaving the stadium after the game when he got into an argument that turned violent. Raina suffered a fractured skull. Seeing him connected to all of the tubes and machines, how do you absorb that . Rainas wife and the couples four children have been at his bedside for four days. I remember when i moved to tucson after 9 11 and i know a lot of the stories i focused on, security at the border, what have we learned since and what do we still need to do . One of the things we have done is we have hardened the security on the aircraft. So the notion that someone could go to the u. S. , go to flight school, weaponize it and fly it into a building, i think we have stopped that possibility. However, threats continue to evolve. There are three that require a real focused attention. One is cybersecurity. One is the safety associated with Global Warming and Climate Change which people dont think of as a Homeland Security risk but danger to life and limb, it is. And the danger of mass gun violence, sometimes motivated by islamics, sometimes by right wing extremists, sometimes it is some sort of pathology. We toent have a good handle on that. I think each one would be an excellent nominee for the party. But if biden gets in they will have to duke it out. Do you think joe biden should apologize . I think he has been apologizing. Pick up the phone and call her directly . I think that would be a good thing to do. But in the meantime, i think he has acknowledged that those hearings were not run in such a way to give her a fair hearing. We saw a reprice of that with the hearings of kavanaugh. Immediately upon hearing the indictment, we ordered our own investigation as to what happened. I think there is a difference between uc and some of the private schools involved. We dont do legacy admissions. So if your parents went, that does not give you an advantage. We dont do donor related missions. We do admissions by exception which is about 2 of the students who meet the eligibility requirements but have some special talent. It may be athletics, music, theater, that allows them admission into the university. That is issue that we will get focus on. Let me ask you about tuition. You wanted to raise tuition for out of state students but it was shot down. Do you feel like out of state students, obviously you wanted it as a 3 , why is that . We wanted it. It was basically a race to account for inflation. I thought it was fair and a reasonable request. The regents deagreed. We have held instate tuition flat for 7 of the last 8 years. Whether that is a sustainable model, i cant stay. Because costs continue to rise at the university. We are not at all divorced from economic reality of the world. We want to make sure we protect the university as the institution, the excellence at the halmark. California students first .
