Theres a sign behind us it says that Everyone Needs to text for emergency alerts. Drinking and driving are big issues for every holiday. The cold weather is another big issue that emergency crews are looking out for today. I asked the San Francisco Fire Department what kind of calls they respond to most on new years eve, they have to help a lot of people that are cold, and if youre drinking its hard to realize how cold it is. Fire crews say you should bundle up. Getting to and from your celebration means of planning ahead. Whether that means taking public transportation, using a rideshare app, or getting a ride from a friend. If you have a couple of glasses of champagne be aware of what youre drinking. They see people who drink too much. We have to get medics out there for people who are unable to care for themselves, who end up not being able to walk. They fled the emergency medical system. We want to reserve the hospitals and Emergency Rooms for those that are truly injured. Not to say that you are not injured if youre drinking. You can certainly limit that. Looking for anyone driving under the influence. They are continuing a maximum enforcement. It started at 6 pm on friday and will go until midnight tomorrow night. A man who spent four days on the run after escaping san quentin is back in custody. Mendoza was arrested at taco bell on the saturday, and 200 miles south of the prison. He was taken into custody inside the taco bell by a Gang Task Force unit. He had been on the run for four days. A witness recognized mendoza from his distinctive tattoos on his face and neck. When i was a sitting down i noticed the Gang Task Force come in. They walked right up to him and told him that he needed to come out of the booths. Mendoza walked away from a work crew last wednesday at san quentin. No one from the prison realized he was missing until an inmate had kate headcount was taken hours later. Family and friends preparing to honor the life of Corporal Singh. Hundreds of people came out to a candlelight vigil to honor Corporal Singh. There will be an honor guard viewing for the officer , on saturday Funeral Services will be held at the Crosspoint Community church in modesto at 10 am. Central valley congressman released a statement saying that our commute lost one of our bright stars in Corporal Singh he dedicated himself to keeping our Committee Safe in his death and the line duties a tragic loss for all of us in the central valley. A new report claims that there were several warnings that couldve prevented the wildfire tragedy in paradise. Almost 14,000 homes were destroyed and 84 people were killed. The report claims that officials only prepared for tama wildfires, and did not take into consideration dead end streets. They said that officials did not sound orders for people to flee the fire. They say that towns destruction should set a new bar for emergency planners and wildfire areas. Pg e could face charges including murder if they found that reckless maintenance of their equipment caused the wildfires. An attorney that represents 900 people that lost their homes in the wildfire said that it would be unusual to pursue criminal charges against the company. The District Attorney or attorney general doesnt generally charge a company. Because you cannot put the company in jail. The California Department of forestry is investigating pg e in connection to the camp fire. They did report a malfunction near the location where the fire started.
