And now urban university is taking its mission another step forward, with a project that is trying to change perceptions of homeless and struggle, its a new blog called beacon of light and it involves a freelance photographer. I wanted to do something that meant something to me. Social justice, Law Enforcement is there, i was looking at single moms. I was looking for nonprofits, i saw her, and the work she is doing and some of the stagles we had going up. The project has yielded powerful pictures and it is offering a new way to look at a problem. His photo, the favorite one is this one, a mother is handing a child a piece of food, its about food insecurity, he admits he didnt see what weaver did when he took that picture. The food is a metaphor for life for me, he sees a tender moment. This is one of his favorites, the adults were inside and the children were inside and they were passing the time playing with bubbles. I try to capture them, showing the love and innocence of being a child. Its in his pictures that you see mothers and children and family.
