Warmer over the weekend but cold this morning after yesterdays thunderstorms and hail. The storm totals were not really that heavy. Most were about 1 3 up to 1 4 inch. 44 and clear skies in daly city. The rain total is. 41 inches. Pacifica had 2 3. Dylan beach had over one inch and so did montecito, brentwood and saratoga good rain. About 1 2 across the area. There could be a little frost but they think the dew points are too high. Tomorrow there will be critical minimums so when we get the dry air but around the bay we have upper 30s with the rain just about done unless you are to the north and if you are youre dealing with cloud coverage and light rain from mendocino into lake county. 32 in napa, 30s in fairfield we have a lot of upper 30s including fremont. A lot of 30s on the peninsula as well with woodside at 36 and foster city and fremont at 39. Montero is a cool 42. Here is the cloud coverage moving through the mendocino coast. Some of that will sneak to the north but south of the golden gate partly sunny. Today we have a lot of 50s but warmer. 7 03. How is the traffic . It has been a little better than yesterday and the day before. Hopefully we will get that friday light traffic. The carquinez bridge is looking good and i would say 22 minutes between the carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze but when you get to the bay bridge toll plaza it is night not like. Backed up for 15 minutes, however this could start improving around 8 00. This is a look at interstate 880 where traffic is moving well. On the east may vape i am encouraged by what i see, not a lot of slow traffic. I do have some traffic on highway 4 over the willow pass into concord. A developing story from the past hour. Highway patrol is looking for a driver which led to a head on collision between a chp vehicle and another. This happened in hayward near the offramp for hay street. Christien kafton is at the scene to explain who investigators are looking for. Reporter i checked with chp and they said they are looking for the truck and the suspect in this case. We have a new description of the truck. Lets show you the graphic. They are looking for a dark blue dodge ram single cab pickup truck with yellow paper plates that read the following. The investigators tell us they are looking for the driver and say their actions led to this headon collision. It all started when chp officers spotted a pickup truck speeding northbound on 880 with the paper plates. The drama was captured as crews try to pull up pullover the pickup truck and then it took off with speeds approaching 120 Miles Per Hour. At that point officers were in pursuit following the truck until it sped off the freeway at the offramp here in hayward. The truck then sped to the intersection through a red light. The suv approached the intersection and then proceeded to the intersection. That is when the chp vehicle collided with a sedan. At that point they were forced to stop fortunately the officers and the people in the sedan received only minor injuries. They were taken to the hospital but the suspect in the vehicle sped away and got back to i880 northbound. We asked if they were able to capture the suspect vehicle on camera but at this point they are looking into it. Coming back to the live picture, the good news for the commuters is that the astreet ramps have been cleared so there should be no impact on the morning commute. This is the latest in a series of recent crashes involving chp. One officer was killed when a suspected drunk driver slammed into his patrol car Christmas Eve on 880. President trump is in switzerland for the World Economic forum but he has come out swinging against this report in the New York Times. President trump working the crowd but stopping to offer a brief retort to the allegation that he tried to fire Robert Mueller. It is fake news folks. Fox news confirmed trump wanted to fire mueller last year. Robert mueller is investigating allegations of collusion with russia and possible obstruction of justice. They say the president s lawyer refused to do it. It is a big bombshell. Democrats piled on. He cant fire someone legitimately who is investigating him. It is fundamentally wrong. Trump thought Robert Mueller had conflicts of interest. Among them disputed fees at the Trump Golf Club in virginia but the white house points out trump listened to his age. It shows you everybody should listen to their lawyers. The advice was very sound. The white house put out a statement declined to comment out of respect for the office of the special counsel. Russian agents created 129 events on the social Media Network of facebook during the 2016 campaign according to a statement from facebook to the Senate Intelligence committee. More than 300,000 accounts viewed the events and 60,000 marked they would attend. Event pages show at least some of them were political rallies centered on divisive subjects such as immigration. Russia has denied accusations that they try to influence the election. A man suspected of robbing a woman using an atm is now in jail. Six candidates hoping to replace governor jerry brown in a forum at ucla. Gavin newsom along with the la mayor are considered the top democratic contenders in the race. Other democrats are also running state treasurer john chung and superintendent elaine easton. John cox and Orange County assemblyman travis allen are also working to run. Yesterday they debated a range of issues including immigration, a portable and universal healthcare. We delivered on the promise of universal healthcare regardless of pre existing condition. Traffic on 580 looks good from dublin to livermore and to castro valley. On the south bay we have some slowing so there is somewhat lighter conditions for the Silicon Valley commute. Going up to 1000 for employees who have been with home depot for more than 20 years. A new report says more teenagers are taking part in the tide pod challenge. It is a dangerous trend on social media where teenagers post videos on themselves putting laundry detergent in their mouths. Poison control center says 39 teenagers were treated for exposure in the first two weeks of this month. After issuing a warning they say the numbers actually went up to 86 cases. A federal investigation into ford explores is underway after some drivers and passengers reported feeling sick after riding in the suvs. 1300 owners have reported issues including feeling dizzy or nauseous.
