Then, came word from the senate that the bill contained at least three provisions that violated senate rules. A revote in the house is scheduled for wednesday. For all those millions of men and women in america living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to get ahead, help is on the way. Reporter but democrats, including our own representatives in california called the bill a middleclass tax scam that favors the rich. This is the worst bill to ever come to the floor of the house. With stiff competition for what some tried to do, the worst bill in history. 2 million in california stand to lose their state and local deductions if the republicans succeed. This is truly a slap in the face of the American People. Republicans are addressing other lawmakers, talking about the passage of the bill in the senate, lets take a listen. Shipped overseas, never to come back. We werent willing to settle for the status quo, because we believe that america can do better. And, thanks to this important historic piece of legislation, i think all the incentives and pieces are in place for the American Economy to take off, and let that slumbering giant of the American Economy to rise again and leave the world economically and militarily as well. Anybody else . Again, the vote was 5148, along party lines the republican majority holds. The next move is going to the house tomorrow for a revote. Thats right. Its worth noting there were two California Republicans who voted against it. David rohrbacher. We were talking earlier about this, republicans here in california are in a different situation than other parts of the country. Weve heard congresswoman lee talk about it too, how there is a cap now, a 10,000 cap on how much you can deduct for property taxes, state taxes, and local taxes, which could really hurt us because this is a high tax state in california, and it could offset some of the tax cuts that people in california are getting. Thats right, they will come back to their constituents and say why did you vote for or against this . Thank you. Tax reform is the topic of the question of the day. On twitter we asked how do you think the bill will affect you. A minority says they will be better off, with but more than half of you think you will be worse off.
