Before that fox news Host Bill Oreilly was like oh amid Sexual Conduct allegations. And this wave of Sexual Misconduct complaints and dismissals began with hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Matt lauer 59 years old the face of Morning Television for many years. We get to hear from him. We wonder if he will come out and Say Something to bandaid what happened or if its a lilo situation. That remains to be seen. This happened so quickly. These accusations were brought forward. He was dismissed it seemed quickly after this happened. It would seem a good amount of evidence that this was a valid complaint that was brought out. You dont necessarily hear matt lauer disputing the accusations. He has not said anything as of now. You dont get the sense that he will dispute the claims from this individual. You can hear the sense of shot and emotion from guthries voice when she was speaking. She said it well when she said all women and people need to be feeling safe in the workplace. That goes on the allegations of Harvey Weinstein when that started until now. This is a colleague of theirs. A friend. A colleague they care about and respect. But the accusations are so serious and obviously the woman who brought these accusations forward is also one of their colleagues and they need to respect the accusation that she has brought forward. One faces deportation for being in the country illegally. Mayor schaub says she supports the police but that the city must work harder to protect all of the residence. When did you first get word from ice officials that they wanted to do this operation . The special agent in charge like a chief gave me a call the night before. He told me that they hsi had a criminal search warrant. They were going to execute that the next morning. They asked for traffic support as well as a Public Safety process. With that information, you pick up the phone and you offer up a sergeant in a couple of officers. How many individuals were there . That is correct. It was a sergeant and two officers. That this particular situation has to do with whether or not the underlying investigation was criminal. That was what was shared with me. That is what i understood. That was the assurance. Being that the investigation involved human trafficking. That is correct. You are taking the word of an individual. I dont know if you know this individual facetoface. This was a phone call. Did you see the warrant . Or do you just trust anyone who calls and says hey chief we have this going on we need your support. This is the chief. This is the head of an agency for the San Francisco office calling another chief. It would be Law Enforcement to Law Enforcement. There is no real difference so to speak on an officer on the east side of oakland contacting an officer on the west side of oakland and saying i have a search warrant and being able to rely on each other. Is this an assumption that youre trusting another Law Enforcement agency . I think we have always practiced and had that culture where we could rely on each other and their position of trust as well as assurances. Do you feel that you would deceive at all by ice officials or the special agent that spoke to you . I want to put an emphasis on the fact that yesterday prior to last nights meeting, i received a letter from the u. S. Attorney of San Francisco who is a prosecutor over this case. They wanted to let people know that the u. S. Attorney alone as well who has pled this matter is and was a criminal investigation. So i rely on that as well. What about the actual warrant . If you had to do it over again would you get your hands on that . This warrant is under seal. You cannot get that because it is sealed . Which creates the complexity of this issue. It is under seal by the federal magistrate. There are complexities involved in that. Do you feel that you lied to anyone in your department, the chiefs, sergeants, city councilmembers about this issue . Let me be clear about this. It is not a feeling that i lied . I did not. To lie is to deceive. I took the stance of what i was told. But to lie requires an intent to deceive. And that under no circumstance did i live. Sometimes the investigations , if you go into this is a criminal investigation as you were told by the special agent in charge, they turn into different investigations. Maybe they went in with the intent but all of a sudden it became an immigration issue as it is right now. Right now, only they can address that. I cannot hear my involvement in this matter had to do with the 15th and the 16th. What occurred later, i cannot address their decisions on how and why they made the decisions they did. Councilwoman Rebecca Castle said that while do you agree with the councilwoman moving forward . I think you have to look at the definition of colluding. To collude, that means to engage in deceitful practices. That takes us back to the idea of lying. I think, im hoping what she meant was collaborate versus collude. Those were her terms. That gives families closure and they want suspects in custody. That is right. Closure is important and getting violent people off the streets. You are doing this without a full staff.
