Coming up. Maybe a little bit of a slipperiness on that morning commute. Bill, thank you. Now to ktvus Cristina Rendon in the coffey park neighborhood in santa rosa and christine, People Living in the burn areas are preparing for the worst. Reporter they are. We actually moved. We are in the sutton grove area here in the northern part of santa rosa but this is an area that is very hilly. Ill step out of the way so you can see it has the potential for runoff and you cant tell by looking at this puddle but the storm drain there is protected by a barrier. Thats why were starting to see some puddling here. But its things like that officials want people to realize as we head into the winter season, they say that vegetation thats burned off is at risk for flash flooding due to runoff and this flash Flooding Risk may last up to five years because it can really take that long for vegetation to regrow. Also, debris and ash can be picked up in floodwaters. Thats why city and county crews have been cleaning and checking storm drains. Wattles and sandbags try to keep out contaminated materials. If the rain is light, theres not as much of a concern for debris flowing. Right now we have a threshold of half inch an hour. Thats when we would be concerned. We are expecting to get maybe 1. 5 over a day and a half. So its a lighter rain this time. Reporter they are working to reduce flood risk by working in the watershed areas where trees and debris are in creeks. If you live near the burn areas or downhill from them, you might want to set up wattles near storm drains. Be aware that the storm drains can get clogged in that area. And if you do start to see any flooding or any mud or debris flow, youre asked to call 911. I was speaking with county officials and they are trying to determine the high risk areas for flooding. As soon as it becomes available, well share it with you. Thank you, Cristina Rendon.
