The puc says dozens of customers are saying someone is impersonating an official with the puc. They are threatening customers that their water will be turned off if they dont provide a cash payment at a walgreens, a cvs or rite aid store in the city. The puc says customers do not pay bills in person. Besides at authorized locations. Bart police have a name to go along with a photo of a robbery suspect. Investigators say the man they are looking for is this man, 37yearold stone. They say he showed what appeared to be a black semi automatic handgun and made off with a womans purse before exiting a train in south hayward. It happened on september 11th about 9 30 a. M. The woman was not hurt. Police say stone should be considered armed and dangerous. The wet winter did look for the parched bay area but produced a bumper crop of potholes. However, over the last three weeks, oakland has filled more than 2700 potholes. Its a step toward the goal of covering 20,000 potholes by the end of the year. Potholes are a pain but they also cause the city a lot of money lawsuits. I see those legal suits twice a month. They come before the attorneys come to the council that i have to pay out whether you broke your leg, broke your arm, damaged your bike, your car. Officials say there is still a lot of work to be done. Nearly 400 miles of city streets still need attention. For the first time in more than 15 years, changes are coming to the Curbside Recycling Program in San Francisco. Ktvus Cristina Rendon tells you the city is introducing new bins to help residents and businesses recycle even more. Reporter if you live in San Francisco, your recycling routine is getting an upgrade. Everything goes in the blue bin. Thats new. Reporter the blue bins are bigger, green bins stay the same and black waste bins are getting smaller. We are further reducing the need for our black bins and getting ever that much closer to our zero waste goals. Reporter starting now items like empty coffee cups, juice box, milk cartons and Ice Cream Containers with wax coatings are recyclable. Plastics are now recyclable too as long as they are in one plastic bag before going into the blue bin. San francisco is on its way to get to zero waste and we are going to get there sooner than 2020, i believe, if we keep going at this pace. Reporter recology says workers are driving reconfigured trucks to accommodate more recyclables and less waste. The changes are the biggest update to the citys recycling and Compost Program since it launched more than 15 years ago. They flew the f a18 fighter jets over San Francisco on a practice run ahead of the airshows friday, saturday and sunday. The blue angels are widely considered the highlight of fleet week. The High Precision air team is set to hold the first performance tomorrow afternoon at 3 00. The blue angels will perform with a number of other aerial teams including the canadian militarys snowbirds, and the u. S. Navy leapfrogs. As part of fleet week, dozens of military men and women who are serving their country are also giving back. They spent part of the day at st. Anthonys dining room today in San Francisco serving lunch to the homeless and ktvus rob roth tells us that many of those they were feeding also happen to be veterans. Reporter those serving their country also served lunch to thousands of hungry an Homeless People today. Among them was u. S. Marine Lance Corporal christine carter. It comes for why we join the military in the first place. We wanted to be able to give back but we cant always have an opportunity to actually have that opportunity to give back. So a lot of us were excited to get an opportunity to do this. Reporter carter is one of about 35 members of the marines and navy who spent the day serving meals to the homeless. All are in town for fleet week. But in an ironic twist, many of the people the men and women are serving are veterans who have fallen on hard times. Its sad to see a lot of individuals end up where they are. You just never know what they have dealt with or what they have gone through in their lives. So to see where they are now, its kind of, you know, touches your heart. Reporter u. S. Navy petty officer Lauren Mayfield sailed up from san diego. I just let them know im navy, i kind of just give them a little rundown of what i do on the ship and on base and a lot of them are just wowed by it. Reporter this man is a former marine who lost his job, then his home. He says he appreciates swapping stories with those who are serving their country and serving those who have fallen behind. They had their own stories. We all go through the same thing. I mean, take me back, im just proud that they are still around. They are still serving. They come here and they just want to sit down, eat, talk, relax. So they are happy just to have conversation with people. And its really cool to talk to them and just know their life stories. San francisco is putting the finishing touches on a plan to adjust parking rates according to demand. Those rates could be as high as 8 an hour in some locations. The citys Municipal Transportation Agency could move to adjust rates several times a year. For example in low traffic areas, the meters could be as low as 50 cents an hour. Busy spots could cost more. A Pilot Program found that increasing parking rates actually improved the turnover. The final say on the plan will come october 17th. Reporter monday morning the express lanes from san ramon to walnut creek will begin on 680. They will operate from 5 a. M. To 8 p. M. Monday through friday, carpoolers, motorcycles and clean air vehicles will pay no toll. Single passengers will be able to use the lanes for a fee. Everybody using the lane will need to have a fastrak tollfree. You need a flex tag to go free. Reporter they have three point switches, one for solo, two for two passengers and three for three or more passengers. Cheaters beware. That activates a beacon along the roadway that the chp can see. And chp will then confirm that there are two or more people in the vehicle or otherwise qualifies for tollfree travel. Reporter a computer determines your price based on the actual congestion at the time you enter the express lane. As congestion increases, so too will the price in the toll lane and as congestion falls, the price will fall. Reporter unlike other express lanes such as those on the 580, which have a maximum price cap, this one will not are. I guess if somebody is willing to pay the price as long as it doesnt jam up the hov lane. I think they will take the money and use it for that train.
