Janis says what is up with those i was yelling at the tv. At some point you know it is going to happen. Someone is going to get killed. Get behind the wall. At some point dont been stupid. We can see the camera. You dont need to be in front of the heavy heavy rain or 115 mile winds. It is a beautiful sunrise. Look at the line of the thunderstorms. Right there coming up from Southern California Central California from king city, salinas big time thunderstorms. You will probably see it if you are down hollister. They need to swing back in. I cant see anything yet. Trying to maybe later today. I think it is more likely tonight into tomorrow. Humid. Muggy conditions out there. Look for a lot of thunderstorms activity to pop up later tonight. It is very warm. We are running well above average. Double digits for some here. 24 gusts of 32. 25 at vacaville. That low will play into our weather today. 70s, 80s, and 90s. 7 06. What do you want to start with . We do have a lot of slow traffic all over the place now. Good morning if you are using the Richmond Bridge you are seeing traffic. Nearby on the freeway we have slow traffic this morning from the carcinas bridge. This is a look at the bay bridge. It is crowded. Maybe a 25 minute delay. I see highway 24 is business in lafayette. It is busy on 68 from Pleasant Hill to walnut creek. There was another one that came down across san thomas expressway. It knocked out power to homes and businesses across the south bay. They are saying there are 4500 customers who remain in the dark in san jose and los gatos. As you head out the door you may encounter a lot of traffic lights that are still out. No word from pg e when they will get it back. Thank you. Today marks 16 years of the terror attacks since 9 11. Remembering the victims. G the victims. We are hering the names of the First Responders who died in the september 11th terror attacks. Earlier this a moment of silence was held. President trump and the first lady led the moment of silence. The entire nation is marking the september 11th, 16th anniversary. Fire stations all over the cities today. Lee joining us at Fire District 7. Good morning. Reporter the First Responders were running in when people were running out those First Responders were running in trying to save those survivors. We are seeing the remembrance ceremony. All of those having their own remembrance ceremony. You have a lot of young men and women on the force now. How is it remembrance different for them . When you look at them, what do you want everyone to know about First Responders. We have a wide spectrum from early 20s all the way to the 60s. You cant help to think these employees were 10 years old if that during september 11th. Talking with them during their short career we are fortunate that we were able to get them here in San Francisco Fire Department. Reporter where were you on september 11th. I had just gotten off my shift. I was basically ready to hit the bed. My mom called me up she said you better turn on the television. This cant be america. As the events unfolded throughout the day hearing how many people lives were lost the First Responders and Police Officers, the Building Construction workers everybody. It is something that has been hard to take for the rest of our lives we need to step forward and remember what happened in on that day and make that stronger and allow us to keep it as a threshold and keep it to all americans at the highest level. More than 300 firefighters lost their lives. As a firefighters yourself and someone who looks after the rest of the team too, you know what the risks are. To see those lives lost rushing into the world trade center. How do you reconcile with yourself too. You know you are at risk but your team too . We make the decision to become a firefighter and public servant. We basically have to have a lot of trust in our coworkers. We are not a team, we are a family. As a family we work as a team like every family does. That gives you a lot of comfort. I know if i was risking my life and i became trapped my coworkers are right behind me. Reporter thank you for hosting such a beautiful ceremony. Right now you are hearing the names of the people that lost their lives. Lee martinez at fire station seven. Time to check the roadways with sal monitoring a busy community. We are settling into this fall commute pattern. Traffic is backed up as it normally would be for a 25minute delay though. If you are going the other day we have slow traffic right about Marina Boulevard maybe after that heading down to hayward and fremont. You can see this commute is going to be slow getting up to the west valley. This is 280 on the right. There goes caltran. At 7 17 lets bring steve with the weather. A lot of high clouds coming over us. More cloud cover and yes, it is muggy but temperatures will start to trend downwards today and taking us into wednesday, thursday. Look at that line over to highway 1. That is big time and coming from Southern California. I think what we had happen here is overnight i think you had collapsing thunderstorms winds and you get colder downdraft. The rain e vape rated before it reached the ground. So that is what happened over towards south bay. Now the delta is picking up big time. Not much happening in our area yet. It is very close. It looks like it can stay south for a while. A lot of energy just swinging in heading out. Look at the cloud cover continue to roll up. This will give us thunderstorms activity. Very mild to warm still finally under 70. 65 to 66. From alameda 68. So it is warm. 60s 70s to mid70s for some. Temperatures up from 5 to 11 degrees compared to this time yesterday. So we are running much warmer. The cloud cover has a lot to do with that. That will usher in a cooler pattern. The one to the south has died down. The cloud cover will be with us. This will be an increased opportunity not only showers but lightning. I think thunderstorms later tonight, tomorrow. 70s, 80s for some. Still very muggy today. About an hour to drive from vallejo to San Francisco. It is not a bad commute. You can see it is getting busier which is normal for this time of the morning. We have slow traffic between the nimitz freeway. It is slowing in both directions. I would say 280 is pretty good if you want to use it up or down the peninsula.
