Well start with the south bay and then work our way up the peninsula right now from san jose, santa clara over to sunnyvale in palo alto. We are seeing some heavier pockets of rain and its centered up right along 101. So youre dry between those cities on one is especially wet right now. Watch for some standing water on roads as rain falls been consistent this morning and at this point youll start to see it ponding a little bit as youre driving highway 84 from woodside up into the Santa Cruz Mountains, some heavy rain up there. Happy to be resurgence of heavy rain for you right now in further north on the peninsula, pass as a foe on up into marine county. Were seeing some heavier rain now. Sandra fell about as heavy as its been this morning. Now up to nevado as well. And right around Stinson Beach and bolinas too. We zoom out. Its been my privilege to work with her when she was the head of the intelligence committee. And when i was working on the senate side when she was on the senate side is working on the house side. Also. Want to acknowledge again. All right. So there hope for the moment for adam schiff propalestinian protesters interrupt his victory speech last night after events in november election in a race to succeed late senator Dianne Feinstein getting shouted out their shift. And as we said, republican steve garvey are going to face each other in the november general election. The ap projecting that they will succeed in and help saying representative katie porter and representative barbara lee. Capital course won a timeout with the latest. And lets move to San Francisco now where voters have passed proposition e, you know, that measure advanced Police Policies could make it easier to fight crime in the city force. Essentially with this passing, we can see San Francisco police are really getting a little bit more power and essentially more resources to deal with the crime and the open drug use that the city faces. We also may see some more car chases because some of that is going to change. Take a look that video up on your screen so i can break it all down. Now, the passing of proposition will widen the scope of San Francisco police being able to chase suspects by car prior to this passing. The Police Commission had imposed a 10 yearold policy that would only allow officers to chase criminals that this suspect had committed a violent felony or the person with a threat to Public Safety. Now, with this change, officers can chase criminals by current. The person has committed or is likely to commit a felony or violent misdemeanor. This would widen that window when it comes to chasing criminals for robbing or breaking into retail stores, which has been a major issue in the city over the last year. It also authorizes police to use more drones and install public surveillance cameras with the latest technologies. Without having to get any further approval. Lastly, it allows police to hold committee meetings, community meetings, excuse me before the Police Commission can make major changes to the departments policies. She put out a statement on x saying essentially that she was happy the proposition the past, which would allow us to build on the progress were delivering on Public Safety and San Francisco by supporting the work of our Police Officers expanding our use of technology and getting officers out from behind their desks and onto our streets. In addition to all of those things that i mentioned, as she said in her statement, one of issues are one of the things part of this new proposal. Its essentially putting a time limit on how long officers have when it comes to administrative work. So theyre not allowed to simply just sit there at the desk. They do need to go out into the field. Lets start with the south bay because we do have this heavy pocket of rain right around sunnyvale right now. 2. 37 in just been relentless for you. Driving between milpitas and sonny bill. So especially watch for some areas of standing water right there along that route. That takes you just south of the bay itself. Palo alto, los altos out of Portola Valley in woodside. All these areas seeing some heavy, intense rainfall for you. Moderate rain working your way up the peninsula, Half Moon Bay. You saw a resurgence of it starting to wind down as that cell moves northward sf. Also in the midst of a little bit of a low as for Stinson Beach up to san rafael, youre in the midst of some rainfall picking up in these spots right here. Zooming back out across the region. And it just continues up and down the coastline. If you are further inland, youve got your heavier rainfall round later on today, another look at their montero up to Half Moon Bay with our heavy rain, low pressure area. This is the one thats resulting in all are unsettled weather today is actually to the south of us now and will continue to steer itself further southeastward. So well continue to tap into some of this residual moisture on into the afternoon. Look at how those showers do continue around the noon hour. But spots that havent seen a lot of it inland east bay and north bay. See our best chance of some afternoon Thunderstorm Development later on. So keep your eye on the skies there into the evening. The vote was 4 to one to pass the ordinance which increases just cause eviction protections for tenants and also establishes a rent stabilization program. And that means that rent increases are capped at 3 a year. And the just cause eviction protection. That does not apply when a tenant is at fault. For example, if they stop paying rent. Kron fours spoke with both tenants and landlords about this. In the children. Are suffering with the rent the rent, rent increases every year. And its a its a really bright. And so whats going to happen is that were going to be in living on the street. So this isnt really just about. You know, rental rights. Its about Property Owner rights.
