The big concern, those strong gusty winds with low humidity. We do have Team Coverage of this weekends fire danger everything that you need to know will start with kron. 4 Charles Clifford. Hes in the live for us in the north bay where fire crews are going to be high alert. But we will first start with our meteorologist kyla grogan who is tracking those conditions for us in the weather center. Good afternoon. Kyler. Hey there. Good afternoon. So todays going to be a lovely day. But by the time we get into the weekend, unfortunately, were going to be under a red flag warning and you can see it is not just the bay area, a good portion. Northern california as we zoom in here, though, you see how pervasive this is. It is only really the base i areas and just a small part of the south bay that are not in this red flag warning saturday and sunday. So let me tell you who is in the morning and when so from 05 00am saturday morning until 05 00pm on sunday, santa cruz in the north bay interior mountains as well as the east bay and east santa clara hills. That is when you are under the red flag warning in the worst conditions will be around. Then when that wind starts coming down into the valleys 05 00pm saturday until 05 00pm sunday, the north and east bay interior valleys, also the north bay coast and the San Francisco peninsula coast. You will also that red flag warning. And here is why wind is set to be, you know, normal. Today. We get a little sea breeze in the afternoon. But as we get into saturday, this is about 2 oclock. See all of that wind coming from the north that will be offshore wind bringing very dry air towards the bay area. You see continue saturday night and even ramps up as we get into the overnight hours saturday to sunday. In fact, i think thats going to be the most dangerous time sunday morning. Still continuing. It really isnt until we get later into the evening on sunday that we should start to get a little bit more of a break. This is the other issue, relative humidity levels right now. No eroblem as we go through tonight. Also no problem. But watch what happens once we get into saturday. Now we are in the 10s and teens. Very dry conditions will be back in a little bit. San Jose State University wants to partner with public School Districts in Santa Clara County to help find housing for teachers. The university wants to build developments and use a building that they have that they got in twentytwenty to help house their own faculty, staff and graduate students. Plus teachers employees from various School Districts like san jose unified in Alum Rock Union School District. The plan is for the School Districts to sublease the rooms from the university. As we head into saturday and sunday expecting winds to be 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour with gusts upwards to about 50 Miles Per Hour. And fortunately, humidity levels really dropping. May be asking, well, why does that happen, right . Why now . And not last week will High Pressure sitting off shore right now. Low pressure. Its called an inside slider because kind of slides to the inside of california. Once those 2 dynamics set up, you get that clockwise circulation with your High Pressure counter clockwise circulation with low pressure and the wind gets driven between them essentially from the northeast to the southwest. That is a dry wind very different than the wind that comes in from the ocean. So we have that wind happening. And then lets talk about why we can get wildfires in these conditions
