Investigators say it happened at about 5. 30, last night near brentwood city park. Thats where a teenage boy was threatening people with a kitchen knife. Officers say they tried to deescalate the situation multiple times, but the teen stabbed an officer as they moved in to detain him. The officers recovering at the hospital. The teen is in custody. Meanwhile, police are investigating a Fatal Shooting in oakland that happened wednesday at about 04 45pm in the 200 block of kerwin avenue. Opd homicide detectives are looking for suspects and a motive. The victims identity wont be released until they notify the next of kin. Well, we the video of the just moments after a car crashed to the chinese council, a building in San Francisco. The mandate to this video says he was waiting in line to submit documents for a visa the car suddenly smashed the door and hit the long claims the driver came out, shouting, quote, were ccp and they started fighting with security guards. Well, our top story this morning, the San FranciscoTeachers Union will be announcing today whether their authorizing a strike teachers say that they are prepared to hit the picket lines of the strike is approved. Will you authorize a strike giving there negotiating team the leverage to threaten that at the bargaining table. Again, this strike vote doesnt necessarily mean theyre going on strike. And let me just piggyback on what james just mentioned. That even if they vote yes on a strike authorization, which we will know at noon, voted between 4 and 8 oclock last night. Yes, it doesnt mean that there is no School Tomorrow because they still have to do a second vote. And that vote basically is are you sure you want to go on strike if thats the case, then we will see the first strike in San Francisco as far as teachers are concerned since 1979, what will happen is the teachers. Well, more than likely james and rina, the polls seem to indicate that they will vote yes. About 80 of them said they are ready to go on strike. The 2 sides have been meeting for the past year, but no deal. The district is offering a 10,000 pay raise for the teachers. But the teachers say they are looking for a lot more than that. San francisco, they say simply too expensive. A lot of people not just leaving the classrooms are prepared to leave the classrooms. Should they go on strike . Lot of people say that ready leave the industry altogether. Now weve got a chance to talk to the union leader. Heres what she had to say about her industry. We have so many vacancies when we have such high turnover when we cant retain educators. When are classified members are paid enough. And when our working conditions continue to impact our students, education. Heres what you also need to know that on monday they have a bargaining session ready to go already plans. So that is good news. An indication that theyre not ready to go on strike just yet. And yes, we will find out in a little less than 4 hours are now yes or no. No indication on when even if its just rain and around james, when they will circle back to do that second vote. But more than likely, probably not until after monday. As i mentioned, they plan to get back to the bargaining table at that particular time. They were students at televised high school in mill valley, walked on a class on wednesday. They were protesting racism march to city hall after classmate ledley made a video using a racial slur. Students say they hope that the demonstration will lead to some sort of change at that high school. Some incidents have led up to this, which made have a walkout were against the administration at 10 00am not facing actions against these people. We just need some change on it. Community members also joined in on that march we reached out to the School District about this incident and we have not heard back just yet. Well, happening today, the California DomesticWorkers Coalition will gather in San Francisco to protest Governor Newsoms vetoing over health and safety bill. The health and safety for all workers act would have allowed cal osha to issue Workplace Safety rules for households employing a domestic worker. Currently Domestic Workers dont have those protections. The protest will take place at 10 00am outside the State Office Building on golden gate avenue. As you can see, the past of the annular eclipse only clips the very northeastern side of the state. But were still going to get around 80 of a shadow along the sun right there. So make sure that you get those eclipse glasses, the welding goggles, anything like that and get out there and catch a look at it. Now, if you do want to get the full effect and stay in california, i mentioned that Little Corner of the state thats going to be seeing it out towards out her us up there in modoc county in far northeastern california. Also not the worst of viewing, too, because thats out towards the desert. Youre going to get a little bit more clearing going on during your morning hours. You want to head up 80 out towards when about nevada. Also going to be right in the midst of that center of that passing of the moon between the sun and the earth. Now, what we have here locally today would have been Great Eclipse viewing. Weve got our Crystal Clear forecast today. Unfortunately, tomorrow night into saturday morning, we are going to see the return of some clouds. This High Pressure ridge is in place for now. But right around the corner, another cold front dropping in past the region. Its going make for a cloudier day tomorrow and into saturday, too. Today, all the sunshine, Beautiful Day to be out and about tomorrow. Youre going to notice a lot more cloud cover on the mat moving across the bay area. And then tomorrow night, a few showers. Now theyre mostly going to stay north of the golden gate up in marin, sonoma, napa and solano counties. The rest of us may just see a sprinkle again. Thats friday night into saturday morning. Saturday itself should clear up. Im hoping sooner than later. So you can get there around 09 00am and hopefully catch a view of the annular eclipse. As for today, it is a very pleasant one lot of 70s for San Francisco, some 60s right along the coastline. Well, theres a new hurdle facing millions of americans as they switch to electric vehicles. Problem is a combination of broken ev charging stations and a shortage of electricians that are qualified to fix them on. And weve got news nations Xavier Walton to explain. As more americans shift gears to electric auto experts say prepare for a major speed bump. It is with the sheer number of broken chargers. Theres not nearly enough highlevel electricians to actually right now. There are more than 4,000 charging stations nationwide that are out of service, according to department of energy. Thats roughly 6 of the total number of public charging stations across the country. Concern is that people are reporting that they arent always able to charge. And so that means there has to be a network of repair and repairers. And that is the part thats not happening. By 2030 to keep up with them. And american needs 142,000 more certified electricians problem is the bureau of labor statistics expects the electrician labor pool to shrink 14 . Another obstacle finding trained electricians to ev chargers. Experts say there are a dime a dozen does. Remember, this isnt the same thing as wiring. A light switch in your home. This is a very specialized, new type of well, broken charge have already become a pain in the neck for some drivers, not having enough electricians to is keeping potential ev buyers unlike the gas station where youre there every week or every couple of weeks.
