And people, as you can see there been paying their respects throughout the morning and they will be allowed to do so until this evening. Kron fours charles, the 3rd is live for us now from there with more details. Hey, charles. So right now im outside San Francisco city hall in civic center, plaza of the senators casket arrived around 8. 30 this morning. They have placed inside, as you just saw. Lets going take a look at some video from a little earlier now. They have placed the casket underneath the rotunda just outside the balcony outside the mayors office. Its a very appropriate place for her to be viewed. Folks are being allowed to enter San Francisco city hall off of n s through the front door to go through security and then stand in line and everyone is being given a few moments to pay their respects in front of the casket. Then off to the side in the south light room, others, memorial books where people can send messages to the family. Now, this is a very appropriate place for the viewing. Senator feinstein spent a lot of time in San Francisco city hall. She was a supervisor from 1979, our 1969 until 1978. And then following the assassination of then mayor george, county supervisor harvey milk, she became mayor and was mayor for a decade until 1988 when she left for the senate. Now outside city hall today, i talked to some folks who came to pay their respects, including one woman used to work for then mayor Dianne Feinstein. I used to work senator feinstein when she was mayor in the early 80s she was former sports zone. Everything i can very thing and how navigate the world. All right. Matt has been here. And then tomorrow there will be a Memorial Service held here in Civic Center Plaza my bill to see some fencing going up behind me. Theyre setting up a stage in preparing for that. You cant make it down what were going to stream it here on kron 4, starting at 1 oclock tomorrow afternoon. Yockey says for feinstein to lie in state in San Francisco is fitting after her years of Public Service to the city. You know, talk about your days as a supervisor. Very proud of her days as a Service Supervisor as well as mayor. So it was something that it was just in her dna its its not just appropriate is exactly which she would have wanted to live here in state i mean, you the return of a building that had so many mixed on memories. Well, this years fleet week will also pay tribute to the late Sen Feinstein is credited for bringing fleet week to the bay area when she served as San Franciscos mayor in 1981. And San Francisco leaders officially kicked off the fleet week festivities yesterday morning with a ceremony at piers 30. And 32 and over the weekend on a saturday and sunday, the Patriots Flight Demonstration Team will perform a special formation in honor of feinstein. We are going to be warm today and look at all the sunshine from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay to mount tam to the east bay, san jose. The Golden Gate Bridge pick a spot. Weve got the sunshine for you today. Temperatures have gone up since yesterday. This is the difference between 24 hours ago and now. So if youre happy, they were 22 degrees. Warmer. 17 degrees. Warmer in napa and santa rose. You get the idea we are warming up current temperatures right now. 69 San Francisco. But already 78 out of Half Moon Bay. Wow. 89 in santa rosa. You can see about 81 in livermore, an 81 in san jose. So obviously the coast is feeling some of this today and theyre going to get even warmer as we head over the next couple of days, expecting Half Moon Bay to get up to 80 degrees today. That is an unusual day. Its what i call our San Francisco summer and october. We should see low 90s in the north bay, the inner east bay and down the south and some nice 80s around the bay itself. But thats all to say that its going to be well above average. Now, also, weve had that northerly wind notice in the oakland hills, about 70 miles per hour, about 20 up at atlas, peak that northerly flow north northeasterly flow is a little bit of fire. Danger is you can see not a lot of it working its way down to the surface. Here are relatively calm in most spots. Fairfield now livermore about 13 miles per hour. But that is just to say that were going to ramp down a little bit as we get into our evening. But then it picks up again a touch as we get into our thursday morning. By the time we get to thursday evening, though, that onshore flow will start happening again. And that will be a little bit less of fire danger, but High Pressure large and in charge. Thousands of kaiser employees are on strike as part of one of the Largest Health care workers strikes. In history, kron fours Tiffany Justice is in walnut creek now with the details. The Kaiser Permanente workers holding to their promise of a threeday strike if no agreement was reached, hundreds gathering right outside of the Kaiser Permanente hospital here walnut creek. One of 14 Kaiser Permanente. Hospitals in the bay area. Got to hear as the Largest Health care workers striking u. S. , history plays out around 60,000 Kaiser Permanente. Workers here in california took to the streets to strike many telling kron 4 they were locked down of the building wednesday morning because hasnt been listening to assist frontline healthcare workers we are partners in the situation and were telling them that theres a health care and we want them to come back and going but nationwide, there are around 75,000 workers who are on strike in multiple states, including colorado, washington, oregon, maryland, virginia and washington protesting what they say is unfair labor practices and unsafe staffing levels. Those on strike chanting kaiser shame on you saying that the company is working in bad faith. I want to say come back to the table, cargo in good faith and listen to us on the solutions we for the health care having this type is it is really hurting our patients members in some of the jobs being affected by the strike range from nurses, Emergency Department technicians, surgical technicians and home in healthcare eights. In a statement from Kaiser Permanente, they say both Kaiser Permanente management in Coalition Union representatives are still at the bargaining table. Having worked through the night in an effort to reach an agreement. There has been a lot of progress with agreements reached on several specific proposals late tuesday. And this is threeday strike. Majority of workers have been out since 6 oclock in the morning. And they will be out here until 06 00pm this afternoon reporting to be just kron. 4 news. It for cisco Unified School DistrictStaff Members voted to authorize a strike on tuesday. The unions representing the workers say this comes in response to under staffing and burnout. They said they want to get paid more claiming they make 16 to 25 less than people who work for the city. The union says workers also frustrated with issues theyre having with the districts payroll system. We reached out to San Francisco unified for their response to this vote. We have not yet heard back from them at this time. And not to the peninsula where Police Arrested a man in connection to 2 separate indecent exposure cases in palo alto. Police say 33 yearold Ivan Gonzalez exposed himself to 2 women on sunday. Officers say the first incident happened on a bike trail near the Railroad Tracks between embarcadero road and in senior avenue at around 04 30pm. One woman says gonzalez grabbed her arm and when she turned around, she saw his pants were down just hours after that, a hospital employee who said gonzalez was her patients said that he exposed himself twice as he was getting medical treatment. Gonzales was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County main jail. The investigation into the suspect is ongoing. In the east bay. Police arrested a suspect in connection to the drowning of a 2 yearold boy and rodale sheriffs deputies in Contra Costa County say the toddler drowned in a bath tub at a home on california street just before 9 oclock monday night. The 2 people arrested were booked on charges of murder, torture and felony infliction of injury to a child. The case remains under investigation. Developing news, 2, 1, yearold girls have been identified as the victims who drowned at a san jose daycare on monday. It happened at the happy, happy Home Care Home daycare on fleetwood drive. 3 children fell into a pool and just one of them survived. Investigators are now working to figure out what happened. A walkway that leads from the back door sliding door into the back area. There is access point into the pool area and somehow along the way, there are ways that those doors opened up. No charges have been filed yet, according to the California Department of social services, investigators tour the home daycare in pre licensing inspection and changes to the pool area were requested by the department in 2021. The Department Gave the daycare the green light to open saying the pool was made in accessible. Francisco. A man is convicted of torturing his girlfriend and now faces life in prison. The District Attorneys Office says 36 yearold roberto camaro engaged in felony domestic assault, a rather violent assault and battery over the course of a year and a half. Mayor was arrested february 2022. He later rather his girlfriend later agreed to testify against him. And a jury found camaro guilty. The closures are mostly in the citys downtown and financial district and will not result in job losses. Employees at affected stores have been offered the opportunity to transfer to other stores. At the same time, starbucks is investing 2. 5 Million Dollars for renovations at 4 of its stores in the city. A starbucks spokesperson said the moves are part of a larger evaluation of their store. Body camera video shows a heroic act by a pablo Police Officer as he saves a one weekold baby from choking the 911 call came in last month reporting a baby was choking on milk. Officer Brandon Oswald was just around the corner arriving within seconds. As you can see there. He began giving the baby back blows, dislodging the milk until she started crying on monday. So highs today are going to well above average. This is where we should be this time of year. See, look at San Francisco are looking at for 83 degrees when normal this time of year is 71. You can see 90s in san Jose Livermore concord and santa rosa when normally we would be in those low 80s today. So yeah, get the fan cranking. If youre in walnut creek because were expecting to those in temperatures to get to about 90 degrees today. And that is the high looking out for for you. So it means if you have the ac might be turning that on. But wait for it. If you dont want to turn it on yet because youre definitely going to want to as we get into our thursday friday and saturday. Thats when the seed is going to peak for our inland valleys. And you can see by the time we get to sunday, we start to pull back down into some really palatable 80s.
