You know, San Jose Police are calling this entire shooting and bush saying that the man that has been arrested for this shooting is no stranger to police, saying that hes a convicted felon who should had a gun at all. Mario and, you know, police say hes responsible for this involving a San Jose Police woman yesterday around 8 oclock in the morning. He was finally taken into custody around 12, 30 yesterday afternoon. But lets take you back to everything started. So this was video from yesterday seen at oconnor park, which sits in the middle of a housing complex near race street in san jose. This was all about 9. 15, when we arrived. There were multiple Police Agencies circling the area along with helicopters, swat team and dozens of neighbors that have been evacuated from their homes. Officials say 2 officers responded to a home in the complex around 8 oclock for a domestic dispute. A woman was saying that her husband was drunk and being violent. Now when the female officer approached the front door of that home, she was ambushed by the husband who then shot her. The suspect then barricaded himself along with his wife inside the home for a few hours. That wife was safely released to police around 10 oclock in the morning. And then a few hours later is when the convicted felon was arrested. Again, that was around 12, 30 or so. But take a listen to what police had to say yesterday at what the press conferences. Today. We are extremely blast. That we did not lose another officer. Im tired. And angry. Violence and firearms. And the hands of those should have them. Continue. To be president. Hes live at san jose was the latest. Well. Heres the latest on the officer. No news is good news. The update is that she is still in Critical Condition but stable and of course, most importantly that she is still alive despite being shot on the outside of her bulletproof vest in the upper chest area when she was arriving to that domestic disturbance, it was her partner that ultimately credited with saving her life after the shots rang out. It was or officer that pulled or to safety administered cpr and then put her in the back of a squad car race to another location, put her into an ambulance and then the ambulance raced to the hospital possibly into surgery because, of course, she was shot in the upper chest. Now throughout yesterday and well into the overnight hours. And im sure in the overnight hours as well. I can tell you that officers one by one from the San Jose Police department and probably safe to say officers from other departments showed up to the Santa Clara ValleyMedical Center to check on her condition. Her name not be released to the public at this particular time. But we do know that shes a 10 year veteran of the San Jose Police department. I also can tell you her partner. Hes also a 10 year veteran of the San Jose Police department. He is being called a hero by his administrators at the department as well as fellow officers, including a very famous lawmaker from the south bay Assemblymember Evan low cole says brother, yes, it was his older brother who rushed into action. He was not injured as far as whats the status of this particular officer, how long she will be in the hospital. Everything is very tight lipped at this time. And again, no news is good news.
