The city the search is on for oaklands next police chief and the Police Commission is asking residents to weigh in on what theyd like to see in a chief. What an eventful day as school is gearing up for many. And here at the San Ramon Valley Unified School District today was their first day. They also have a neat little this play out here. Several of the parents taking pictures with their kids to start off the school year. Were at the Alamo Elementary School where some of these kids will be starting school for the first time today, class started at 8 oclock this morning. School district says today will be a minimum day. A time to get to know your teachers classrooms in classmates. They want to remind parents and students, class assignments and schedules can be found on the districts infinite campus portal. Those schedules for Elementary Middle School and high school have already been posted. They also want to remind parents students about traffic. Safety can get quite busy around the school campuses. And School Officials are asking people to be patient and park in designated spaces and they know traffic can be frustrating for these first few days. As families to get use to the dropoff and pickup traffic flow. We did speak with some parents this morning talking about how difficult it was to drop off their kids this morning. Its cool. Well, in the east bay, dublin, police say that a scammer is impersonating a sergeant with the Alameda County Sheriffs Office. They say a resident received a phone call from whoever this person is demanding money. Detectives are trying to figure out who they are. Police say to call them if you receive a call like this or if you think youre getting a call, thats a scam because theyre clearly on the lookout for whoever this person is. They want to find him. Police in alameda are investigating. The human remains were found near bay farm island. Theyre looking at it as a homicide. Police say they got a call back on july 20th about an object that was found on the shoreline. They went out investigated and later confirmed it was in fact, human remains. An autopsy determined that they belong to a female. They think maybe 25 to 40 ye
