The fight against open air drug dealing continues in San Francisco. The Sheriffs Office made an arrest of a suspected drug dealer in the tenderloin. And folks in the area remained frustrated with the problem from forces with you and has our top story. But that 66 acre blaze continues to threaten multiple homes. Weve been so cool for so long. So San Francisco right now in the upper 50s upper 60s for you and oakland, san jose, upper 70s. You can see where upper 80s and live more conquer concord. Well, developing now, San Jose Police discovered 2 bodies during a welfare check. Officers say they found the pair around 10 oclock this morning inside a home on park. And new at 3, a fire at a historic bakery in San Franciscos north beach neighborhood caused a bit of a scare today. This was the scene of the la gloria bakery on stockton street around 11 oclock this morning. The owner tells us that fire started in a brick oven. Thats big news since 1911. Well over a century. Whats happened is some of the falling down. And i guess when the oven by flame, which theres no direct heat in there, i guess the flames caused the fire stevens from the water on the because the bricks are hot. It be like if you pour water on your barbecue . And fire crews responded quickly and contain the blaze to the kitchen area. No one was hurt. And today is the last day for San Jose City workers to cast their vote, deciding whether or not they will go on strike roughly 4500 City Employees have been voted over the past 3 days on whether to authorize that strike. They are calling for improved pay and benefits and are proposing pay hikes of up to 7 over the next 3 years. Meantime, the city wants to increase pay up to 5 . I spoke with san jose mayor matt mahan on how negotiations are going from the citys perspective for us to give more than a 5 raise will have to identify painful cuts would have to reduce staffing and police and fire cut Library Hours or pay few roads. And these essential services that our residents also rely on. So we have to have a deal thats fair for everyone. We have a great workforce here. They deserve a raise. Thats what were offering them. I just dont see how we go beyond 5 without having to cut services, which is not a position in any of us want to be in. The results from the strike or on whether or not there will be a strike will be announced monday. And the city of santa rosa may change its ban on camping in public spaces. A measure thats been in place since 1994 now federal law says cities cannot force unsheltered people from occupying public spaces. If there are no other options available to them. The Santa Rosa City council is considering an ordinance that restricts campmng to specific locations under special circumstances. All right. And bad news for stanford uc berkeley, the pac, 12 conference might soon become the pack for university of oregon trustees have just voted unanimously for the ducks to join the big 10 conference and the university of washington is expected to follow. There are also reports of both arizona and Arizona State are in serious talks to leave for another conference. The big 12, these would be the latest dominoes to fall after usc and ucla left the conference last summer. That move cost the pac 12, including stanford and uc berkeley.
