little bit of sunshine, little bit of rainfall continues. nothing to keep us to board in this forecast. your view at the golden gate bridge skies are nice and clear for thip morning. so we are up to a dry start for your monday morning. but we do have showers right on the horizon for us. if i zoom out, you can actually see that line of showers sitting right to our north and west and come tonight. that line of rainfall. well dips our direction and we will be looking at some afternoon sprinkles possible for the north bay. but for most of us, this is going to be overnight. light rainfall actually pretty ideally timed having less of an impact on us. would it be moving in during the day? but rather when we're sleeping is when most of this rainfall will get here, i'll be timing it out for you in future cast in your full forecast. as for this morning, though, we are nice and dry and easy drive into work. we're in the 30's for much of the north bay to start the day in the 40's for most of the rest of the bay area. so is a chilly start. make sure you're layered up this morning. if you're planning on being out into the evening without heading back to the house, go ahead and put that rain jacket in the bag. you're not getting needed until much, much later on. we are going to stay dry through the day, but you already start to see some increasing clouds come noon and a couple of north bay sprinkles into the afternoon. again, most of that rainfall holding off until the evening tonight. reyna. john, thank you for that, right. let's get a look at your bridges this morning. had traveling into the city right now. little under 11 minutes. >> to make it from the maze. 2 that free much the exit. let's check on the san mateo bridge across towards the peninsula. a little under 14 as you're traveling there, richmond center fell bridge about a 9 minute morning drive and the golden gate bridge. 37 to the tolls. you're looking at a 20 minute morning commute. it was another violent weekend in oakland. the city reported 37 homicides so far this year. the most recent were 2 shootings on saturday morning that could possibly be related. proffers taylor is aqi. has that. >> the i fear that i have is that it becomes the norm. oakland city councilmember noel gallo, responding to the city's grim death toll after several shootings over the weekend. and last night, i >> they are. you know, the helicopter was flying over with my home, my yard with their lights on in the neighborhood. and the night before that. well, the same thing was happening. police are investigating a possible double homicide that happened early saturday morning at near the 900 block of 77th avenue. >> when they arrived, police say they found the victim bleeding from a gunshot wound who later died on scene. police say short time later a second victim was dropped off at a nearby hospital, but they also died from their gunshot wounds. gallo, who was born and raised here in oakland says the city has had its fair share of crime, but he's definitely noticed an increase in violence is an ongoing challenge. and i think >> those of us here in open certainly. you know, we need to stand up rice up to you know, not only support our police department, but also some of these young people on the street. now with the gang activity has really risen. oakland police are also investigating another shooting that happened around 04:00pm saturday near the 700 block of international boulevard. they say the victim is in critical condition. gallo was also on the public safety committee believes children and families that are trying to make a living and taylor bisacky reporting kron. 4 news. >> a teen in concord was arrested for shooting and killing a man on saturday. that shooting happened at the corner of meadow lane and johnson drive. investigators say they first got reports of that shooting around 10 in the morning when they arrived at that scene there. they found one man shot several times. he was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. the person arrested in the case is not been identified because they are a minor. and the victim's name has not been released. police are investigating the city's 9th homicide this year that shooting happened our court and admiral calligan lane saturday night. the victim is a 21 year-old man from oakland. no other information on the shooting has been released at this time. and police in san jose are investigating the city's 8th homicide of the year. they say they found a man who had been shot saturday night on 5 full avenue. he was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead by the time they got there. no word from investigators on a motive for that shooting or possible suspects. the santa clara county coroner's office is still working to confirm the victim's identity. and an atm machine in antioch was completely destroyed at a credit union. look at this. after workers say someone tried to steal it. well, delta schools, federal credit union posted these pictures yesterday on facebook. they say this happened around 4 in the morning. nothing was taken, but they say the atm machine was ripped from the wall, destroying the front of the building. as you can see, the damage is now been born at. there's no suspect description as of yet. we've reached out to any police will update you as soon as we learn more. let's not just here in the bay area and it is been a violent holiday weekend around the nation. it was too. there are 2 mass shootings in south carolina alone this weekend. janel forte has the latest on the investigations there. >> this easter holiday, gun violence rocking the u.s. all my 2 mass shootings in south carolina over the weekend. her more than 20 people, the first saturday gunfire erupting at a busy mall in the state capital of columbia. >> 9 people shot another 5 injured in the mayhem police arrested. 22 year-old rain price in the aftermath. we don't believe this was random. >> i think it's very important in situations like this. we believe the individuals that were armed, each other there are some the conflict that occurred as result of the gun. far the second shooting at a bar in hampton county. at least 9 people shot there in pennsylvania. another mass shooting. >> this time it air bnb house party in pittsburgh, the majority of the victims, young people, shootings come as the biden administration faces pressure to take more steps to combat a national crisis of gun violence in the past week, the white house appointing a new head of the bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms. the president also signed an executive order cracking down on so-called ghost guns, firearms without serial numbers or background checks, the come ready to be assembled in do it yourself kits, the new legislation expands the definition of a firearm. so that goes guns will be subject to the same federal regulations as guns you buy from a dealer, these guns or weapons of choice. >> for many criminals. we're going to do everything we can to deprive them of that choice administration. now i'm even more regulations that would ban assault weapons and the online sale of firearms and require background checks for all gun sales. >> a solano county responded to a house fire in sassoon city that they say spread to multiple buildings. this is video of that fire burning and sassoon sent to us by kron. 4 viewer fire officials have not yet said what may have started the fire, but there have not been any reports of any injuries at this time. and in san francisco, firefighters were able to get a building fire on turk street in the tenderloin under control. we're looking at video from the citizens at officials say that small fire broke out sunday morning in a vacant apartment on the 3rd floor of the 5th story building. it was quickly contained and there are no reports of any injuries or anyone having leave their homes. the cause is still being investigated. churches across the bay area. welcome worshippers back inside for their easter celebrations. that includes san francisco's grace cathedral, which hadn't had in-person easter mass since 2019 kron four's. camila barco has the details. >> the grace cathedral opened their doors for the first in-person easter service since 2019 on sunday. and while the church is letting hundreds of people worship, they're doing so with some precaution. >> after silent 3 years, the grace cathedral echoed with music on easter sunday. this is the first in-person easter worship at the san francisco church since 2019. wish had for a time to be able to come vicious kurt elaine davies has not attended a church service since the pandemic and they i look forward to for a long time. but on sunday, her the weather taught you have some easter plans going on this weekend. i had nonstop. these are plans rain as it was a busy day for me yesterday. how about you? you know what? i didn't do what i would like to have done, which is done the easter egg hunt all of that stuff. it was a very chill weekend. spent a little time with family. you know, a little bit. now that work. the weekend with tense to do that, especially on the holidays. >> but yet the easter weekend passover weekend, all equally beautiful. we had a little bit of rainfall, but we have a lot of sunshine mixed in there, too. that's something we're going to see on and off for the week ahead of us as well. tonight, we'll see the return of some showers across the bay area. so didn't have to wait long to get back there. but we do have a dry morning commute. you can see your berkeley hills camera right here, looking nice and clear where fog free were pretty cloud-free this morning. the morning hours are going to be among the clearest of the day. so if you're looking to enjoy some sunshine, generally, get out there sooner or later today, we'll start to see an increasing cloud cover this line of showers that's sitting to our north is set to drop into the bay area during overnight hours tonight. pretty conveniently timed this light rainfall will be during daytime hours. a good chance to get outside. enjoy a dry day. tonight is when the showers will get here. let's time it out on futurecast for you. so first of all, we're looking at conditions this morning that are nice and clear. cloud cover will increase, especially towards the afternoon midday. you couple of sprinkles are possible for the north bay around 05:00pm starting to see a few showers along the sonoma and mendocino county lines. most of that rainfall still pent up well to the north, up in humble county, the north coast of the state dropping further in towards our direction come 07:00pm. tonight. that's when northern marin and sonoma counties will really start to tap into some rainfall won't be until after sunset tonight that most to bring in napa county start to see some rain and then further into those overnight hours, this line of showers begins to drop further and further on into the bay area impacting us with some light showers during overnight hours as we've got to sleep tonight for the rest of the bay and pushing out by the time we reach our early morning hours tomorrow, we will see some snowfall in the sierra from the system as well, which is obviously welcome. and then most of the day tomorrow turns out to be a dry one before showers are possible towards the middle and end of the week as well. rainfall totals from tonight. generally on the lighter side around a 10th of an inch to a quarter of an inch for most areas. santa rosa and surrounding mouatainous areas of sonoma county tapping into right around a quarter of an inch to towards half an inch. once you get up into the mountains above the russian river. as for the sierra nevada winter weather advisory in effect, starting at 02:00am of tomorrow morning. so during overnight hours tonight until 11:00am tomorrow, mostly around the lake tahoe region because of the snowfall that pushes along with that system. as for temperatures today, we're staying on the cooler side of things. we've been keeping the light jackets with us as we've been stepping outside. even a sunshine has returned in today's going to be one of those days. increasingly cloudy towards the afternoon and highs mostly in the 60's to just barely low 70's san jose at 72 redwood city mountain view right at 70 degrees. a look ahead in our next 7 days shows temperatures pretty steadily in the 60's until we reach the weekend. when will rise back into the 70's best chances of rainfall will be overnight tonight into early tomorrow morning. then again, wednesday night into thursday and even early friday. so we do have some more rainfall in this forecast. great to be seeing the biden administration open the grounds of the public for the first time in over a year and as anna wiernicki reports, visitors from around the country were lined up and ready to go. >> it's springtime in the nation's capital, which means the city is packed with cherry blossoms and tourists. it's really cool high. you can't de block without seeing a monument somewhere. so nancy morris homan says she's made the trip from california to washington 3 times. but this visit is extra special. she's one of the first tourist to go inside the white house in over a year to be able just stand and inhale. haha is really important to me. i get this month's the white house closed its doors to the public in march of 2020 at the start of the covid-19 pandemic public tours briefly resumed in september. but that only lasted a few weeks. we're just glad it all worked because it's been close for a very long time. the tours are scheduled on a first come first serve basis through your member of congress. and you can just walk on up. they have to be requested and approved. 21 days to 3 months in advance and the white house as space is limited, only 15 people are allowed in each group and tours are only offered between select hours on friday and saturday. even when you come more than want to still get thrilled and excited because, where americans in this is the home of america in washington. i'm anna wiernicki. >> with no end in sight to russia's attacks on ukraine. some u.s. lawmakers say the u.s. needs to step in and take more action to stop russia. washington correspondent alexandra limon joins us live with the very latest. good morning, alexandra. >> reena, good morning. it's a delicate consideration for u.s. lawmakers and the biden administration to make, you know how much more involved the u.s. can get because of fears of what russia could do to retaliate. >> ukrainian president volodymyr zelenskyy said ukraine won't give up its fight against russia in the besieged eastern city of mariupol. it is very important for us not to allow them to stand our ground. that despite the warning from russia to the remaining troops there to surrender or die on cbs face the nation. delaware senator chris said the u.s. shouldn't give up either. the american people cannot turn away from this tragedy in ukraine. senator advocated for more u.s. involvement in ukraine. i think the history of the 21st century turns and how fiercely defend freedom in ukraine and that putin will only stop when we stop an and on capitol hill. more than one u.s. senator has said perhaps u.s. troop involvement in ukraine shouldn't be completely off the table as russia shows. no signs of backing off its attack on ukraine of the president in terms of his decisions as commander in chief need to look clearly at the level of brutality. russia has already sent a warning to the u.s. to stop sending weapons to ukraine. u.s. involvement in helping ukraine has been measured in part because russia possesses nuclear weapons that some experts fear putin would use. and pope francis address those fears in his remarks easter sunday. the table feet it. shall. we put an end to the human race or
