yard line. the niners dodge a bullet early. check this out, fred warner. characteristic of him. that's a dirty hit. there's no other way to say the light side. matt stafford. all right. the niners couldn't do anything on that after that turnover and the rams get back. matt stafford to cooper cup rams strike first. let's go to the 2nd quarter now. same score. this deebo samuel screen pass is his season in a nutshell makes people miss turns it up. a gear finishes through contact. that's one of the best football players in the league. and i like to dance later in the quarter. 10 7 rams, 10, 7 story rams trying to convert on 4th and one. but the niners get a huge stopped. as you can see, just a couple inches and that momentum, the faithful going nuts that momentum carried to the next drive in it ended with a jimmy garoppolo to george kittle touchdown. we're in business. 17, 7. i want be a looking at flights going to la 17 point game. it's all good. not so fast. matt stafford, the cup again that rahm drive 75 yards in 7 plays. now, here's one of those plays. will hart niners fan for a long time? stafford airs it out. jack weiss, key tart. drops the easiest interception he will ever stop and the rams. they settle for a field goal that matt. with a minute and 46 seconds left. so there's still time now after an incomplete pass and then a loss of 3. this is the play to end the niners season. jimmy g 100 arrest throws up a prayer michael hasty. it goes off of his hands. a know throw and the forty-niners season. hate to say about how fitting the ninern blow a 10 point 4th quarter lead eerily similar to that super bowl in 2019, kyle shanahan can't shake that rep and we have enforcement's out as so by stadium crowd for sports reporter kate rooney. she joins us live. kate, we've had some time to kind of process this loss. you've got to see it up close and personal. what we're just your initial thoughts of how it all unraveled for san francisco. >> yeah. you said it was emily sit eerily similar to that kansas city last night. got to agree, jason, because the forty-niners were in control of this game. midway through the 2nd half. it was really the beginning of that 4th quarter. you know, they had a 10 point lead when things started to swing the rams way. and that's exactly what kyle shanahan said after the game. it was those final 2 offensive sequences for the forty-niners where they couldn't get plays off and then they have the opportunity with that mister interception. but across tart just couldn't convert. those are the things that they're going to be losing sleep over tonight. and like you said, the things that 40 niner fans will probably be thinking about for years to come. but now it's time to think about the next biggest storyline already. and that is what is the future of jimmy garoppolo with this forty-niners franchise. that question could be avoided even right after the game. and after the game, you got a very emotional forty-niners quarterback. >> they have pretty are in the locker room. i these next couple really. start to settle in a little bit. you know, emotions are high after game win or loss and it was things got to glad it happened. just, you know, smile from it. and think about the good you know, we'll see what happens in these next couple days, weeks, whatever. but i love this team just a bit. the fighting a battle on this team that entire year has been really impressive. i love those guys. >> sounds of a guy who probably knows he's played his last game in a forty-niners uniform. that final play for jimmy garoppolo. end of this game, kind of a microcosm of all the troubles he's had here over the last several seasons. but hey, he got them to a super bowl. he got them to an nfc championship. and so i think the forty-niners fans certainly have a lot to be grateful for the jimmy garoppolo era, but they're also probably excited to see what might be ahead if trey lance does, in fact get that starting knot next season as a lot of people expect him to. for now, though, not the outcome anyone wanted here tonight at sofi stadium. jason, i'll send it back to you. >> thank u k and we know who will be representing the afc in the super bowl. >> evan macpherson. statistically speaking, he's the best rookie quarterback of all time quarterback best rookie kicker. here's a really good quarterback, joe burrow. the bengals go to their first super bowl since 1989. that's when your boy was born. it's been a while 27. 24 cincinnati wins that game la where cincinnati, if you said you had those 2 teams beginning of the season. >> well, i would do is call you a liar. all right. that's all we have for sports. back to you guys. all right, jason, thank you. it is not the outcome. the forty-niners fans
