Pam moore has the night off. Here we go again with the Delta Variant on the rise. There is new concern about children going back to school to kind of depressing here. The start of the new School Year just around the corner and some parents and school officials are worried after the new Guidance Today from the cdc will get to that momentarily. First, though, Kron Fours Terisa Stasio reports so far it seems that schools are a go for the fall. From the East Bay. We understand and weve learned through the science to San Francisco. We as a district are completely confident to the south bay. We very much want to get back in the classroom and see our students superintendents and union representatives weighing in on returning. Back to the classroom and the Delta Variant gaining velocity in communities threatening to sicken even more people. So many schools shut down during the pandemic some returning with cohorts. But now school officials say that day have learned a lot and feel well prepared students crack open books in classrooms once again. Collective like. But we are nervous about how this variant is playing out right and the numbers that that are the bottom line, officials say is teamwork that it will take everyone following protocols as we continue in this pandemic because were still in the pandemic and we understand that. But were not in the same place. We were previously and that horrific year we went through allowed us to learn a lot. Which we will benefit us at this current point. What we really, really, really are encouraging people to do is to vaccinated because thats going to be the quickest way to get us all back safely and to make sure that we carry optimistic and excited to be out as we do. We want to see our kids back, who want to see them back in class because we know this is the best place for them. Kron 4 news. The California State University system will require covid vaccinations for anyone. Everyone returning to campus this fall. It is happening again as cases continue to surge. Everybody has to be able to prove Vaccination Status Spy September 30th csu campuses are also have been serving as host facilities for vaccine distribution. Students and employees will be allowed to ask for medical or religious exemptions and all you see schools. They are also requiring covid vaccinations for this fall. Governor Newsoms Office says hes pulled 2 of his children out of a Summer Day Camp that did not require the kids to wear masks inside the Camps Decision is violation of State Policy which requires masks for everyone in new settings. Thats because the children under the age of 12, of course, cannot be vaccinated. The new son say they missed a communication from the camp saying it would not enforce mask wearing. Got a Costa County supervisors want to explore making vaccinations mandatory for county employees. And this comes after officials said theres been a new outbreak in County Detention facilities. There were 23 infections. An area bigger than New York city, at least 22 buildings and other structures have been destroyed another 10,000 are threatened. The Dixie Fire is 23 contained. Also infamous county, the Beckwourth Complex Fire is nearing full containment. Good news there. That fire was started by lightning on July 3rd since then. Its grown to more than 100,000 acres in the plumas national forest. Firefighters are working now to keep the fire lines manageable, trying to ensure the flames do not break containment. It is currently 98 contained. And there the California Nevada Border crews still working to contain the tamarack fire. This has been burning nearly a month now in alpine county. Mandatory evacuations are in place for dozens of communities. More than 68,000 acres have burned containment to set 54 now and for the latest on the weather around these fires. The parts of the North Bay early this morning. But things moving well to the north now and up in the Sierra Nevada. Good news is not much in the way of lightning strikes. Thats what were worried about it. See more thunderstorms popping up here. We are near quincy and susan, bill. You see this scattered light showers moving through, not enough to put out that fire. Thats for sure. But the good news is not getting the lightning. So it looks like most the monsoon is going to taper off just a little bit will likely see a few returns storms over the Sierra Nevada. But here locally thats clearing out your skies right now. That fog begin to move into the Bay Area right now and push inside the bay raindrops still could be found. As you make your way toward reading up towards eureka, few scattered showers and those directions otherwise things begin settle down just a little bit. The sign on her yard says despite replacing her Irrigation System that they need maintain their landscape with free recycled water provided by the city. We just feel horrible like with the water shortages for the farmers who grow our food. That were using. We dont want to use drinking for, you know, are our for landscaping. The city of American Canyon is providing free access to water containers and recycled water at to fill stations in town. One of them at the wastewater treatment plant. And soon the city will make deliveries to homes and businesses requesting recycled water. We going with philip probably got a 2 point worsened. Once we found of any toes have been sticking to their routine for about a month. Thats when the city asked residents to cut their Water Use by 10 . Then last week the City Council declared a stage to Drought Emergency requiring residents and businesses to limit their Water Consumption by 20 . So far felix hernandez. Reporter Lonnie Wong spent the day near that crash site. He has an update on the investigation. National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived in truckee at about noon. The residential street leading to the Wreckage Site had already been blocked off today begins a long and involved investigation into the cause of the crash. A family on the Ponderosa Golf Course was marked by yellow tape in a grid around the area with a twin engine. Private jet crashed. It fell between 2 homes on the Golf Course and exploded into a fireball. The fire was so intense. What remained left little indication that it was an airplane. Richard hokie lives.
