spahr in just a moment, but we want to get straight to the latest on the president's condition to do that let's go live to our washington dc correspondent trevor shirley that walter reed hospital good morning trevor. >>and good morning. it was yesterday that the president's doctors gave an update on his health they said that he is progressing and responding to treatment but later in the day white house chief of staff mark meadows said that on friday, the president's condition was actually much worse than most americans knew. >>i came here wasn't feeling so well i feel much better now we're working hard to get me all the way back i have to be back from walter reed medical center president trump released that message to the american people and said he was eager to get back to the white house and the campaign you don't over the next period of a few days, i guess that's the real test so we'll be seeing what happens over those next cup next couple of days, the president's team of doctors shared a rosy view of his condition on saturday at the moment, there's no cause for concern navy commander doctor sean conley said so far he's treated the president with an experimental antibody drug and 2 doses of antiviral remdesivir year with more doses planned. >>he said saturday night the president was moving around the medical suite without difficulty and while not yet out of the woods, the team remains cautiously optimistic. he had a mild cough and nasal congestion the fatigue. all of which are now resolving improving but chief of staff mark meadows was quoted by the associated press and said the president's condition was quote very concerning on friday and faced a quote critical next 2 days in his fight against covid-19 despite those warnings the president also updated the nation on the health of the first lady melania is handling it statistically like it's supposed to be handled the white house continues to contact trace. those who are in direct contact with the president over the past several days. and we've we've also learned reports this morning ow that the president's personal assistant has also tested positive for the coronavirus. >>in the meantime the white house hasn't put out any kind of specific timeline as to how long the president we'll stay at walter reed, but again that all depends on how well he continues to progress as doctors follow his treatment back to you. >>trevor are there others in the white house realm that are being monitored or are getting tested to do we know how often they're all getting tested right now. >>what we don't know specifically how often they're tested, but i can tell you this in general prior to the president's diagnosis. there was a pretty strict testing protocol in place for anybody that was going to be having direct face to face contact with the president so aides or advisers that working with him directly were is essentially tested every day and then people that didn't have common contact with him but that was still going to have face to face meetings, they were also tested obviously something slip through those cracks and the president became infected. and you got to imagine that they're now doing that contact tracing to figure out who would have come into contact with the president over the last week or so those people are likely undergoing testing as well because those positive test they they that notched keeps getting higher and higher trevor thanks for joining us and giving us the latest on the president's condition. we appreciate it. >>we're continuing to see more and more people close to the president has positive for covid-19 as trevor just mentioned the latest is nick luna one of the president's personal assistance. he's received a positive test result as well as former new jersey governor chris christie. >>he checked himself into a hospital yesterday as a precaution. trump campaign manager bill tested positive friday along with former special counselor to the president kellyanne conway other top republicans who have also tested positive include north carolina senator thom tillis wisconsin senator ron johnson. trump aide hope hicks rnc chairwoman ronna mcdaniel utah senator mike lee and first lady melania trump democratic presidential candidate joe biden announced he plans to make the results of all of his coronavirus test public moving forward he has so far received 2 negative test results. vice president mike pence has also tested negative. however after being in close contact with several who have tested positive pence's still decided not to quarantine himself. the vice president is currently off the campaign trail and preparing for wednesday's vice presidential debate but he and his staff are said to be operating under a business as usual approach pence is still planning to travel to arizona, indiana and florida for events following wednesday's debate. we are going to continue to monitor the status of the of that fog to return this kind of a nice little sign. here's what it looks like right now the site from u c berkeley it's nice will get the afternoon sun. but also starting things off of fogs. we're getting some of that marine layer coming back a little bit of that on shore flow just a touch and this little fog bank off towards the distance and sfo, no delays by the way this morning. but you get a general idea of we're dealing with out there to again a little bit of fog covering up the hills to the background so right now we've got 50's and 60's going on to the far east bay up to the north about amounts on this. but it looks like this continues all together several waves of some showers coming our way starting maybe as early as friday morning, maybe even late thursday night again timing is always a big issue with this taking us into at least the early part of the weekend but some of the long-range forecast models say even into the following week, it's still possible. so we like all we see this is somewhat more typical of a late fall early winter like pattern, so just let's hope that that holds together we really could use that 72 san francisco off of the coast will be into the 62, 56 san francisco with 64, san jose most readings around the immediate they little cooler because well was talking about karl hanging around inland a little warmer but again we like the moisture that he brings along and speaking of which here the fog projections as we go into tonight and tomorrow morning to greet you around the perimeter of the bay will probably do this fog thing yet again by 9 o'clock starting to left and pick up a bit in the can that increases the relative humidity levels that we like 86 going on at 1 o'clock by for about 90, although we do see some far inland areas getting into the middle to even upper 90's for today, improving slightly on monday in those inland areas will really start to see this by tuesday into wednesday. weeks things get really interesting. jose so that moisture part of the forecast we do get dry in those inland areas, not as dry as yesterday and not for as long key point. so we have the moisture in the marine layer kind of hanging out there a little bit in the afternoon only to flood us a bit overnight that's typical and you can see it filtering in the sacramento valley that's we like this trend again tomorrow afternoon it dries out a little bit in those inland areas, but not as long and not a severe so we're all going in the right direction. it just seems like try to steer a ship it's very slow in which to do so a big ship and 64 for san jose. one of the with this fog is it helps a little bit throw some of that moisture. marine layer moisture off into the distance a bit. we will see those numbers drop off humidity wise the afternoon that somewhat typical because it mixes with drier air aloft. it's going to come back again with the fog tonight you can see the green at least covering up all the locations around the bay. but then in the afternoon this is not monday, she'll patches here and there work it's a little dry, but it doesn't last a long time and it won't be for as severe as we saw over the weekend sort
