Taylor was shot multiple times by officers who burst into her home on march 13th while conducting a no knock warrant in a narcotics investigation. Prosecutors say 2 of the officers who fired their weapons were justified in using force because they were protecting themselves. However, former officer seen here Brett Hankinson who was fired earlier this year for his role in the shooting was charged with 3 counts of wanton endangerment which means extreme indifference to the value of human life. But this was for firing into the apartments of taylors neighbors. These long awaited charges were immediately met with frustration and disappointment. As for months protesters have pressured kentuckys attorney general Daniel Cameron to arrest the 3 officers and now none of them are facing criminal charges in taylors death. And this team, members of the representatives, the attorney generals taken a lot of criticism and scrutiny. But that screen in many ways was misplaced because there was not a day. Kron fours Charles Clifford has the story here in Santa Rosa Group of employees at santa rosa Memorial Hospital held a rally outside of the hospital saying that the hospital has not done enough recently. To contain an outbreak of coronavirus now back in august. The hospital says that 26 employees here and possibly 4. Patients contracted coronavirus the hospital says they did Contact Tracing and testing to try to isolate the outbreak but the employees say management here did not do enough they didnt do enough testing. They have not provided enough ppe for employees and they want more the only workers. Right, not just. A top public. And happening in parkland hospital. The Hospital Management defended their handling of the situation saying that they have tested employees they have done Contact Tracing and that their primary focus is on the health and safety of everyone here at the hospital we contact trace. We make sure that that are caregivers are taking care of wheat asked and we ensure that that there isolated go home and get better were interested in their wellbeing and making sure that they can come back and take care of our patients and our community. The agency will also have to make a rule requiring all medium and heavy duty trucks be 100 0 emission cars by the year 2045 where feasible. The governor also directed state agencies to speed up development of charging stations across the state and calls on the legislature to eliminate new fracking licenses by the year 2024. Now as the countrys most populous state california along with roughly a dozen other states make up a significant part of the u. S.
