Taylor was shot and killed by Louisville Police using a no knock warrant for a drug investigation. Gary james the reason that theyre going to be rallying today for more testing and for more protocols is because theres an outbreak here last month. 26 a Staff Members tested positive and at least 5 patients tested positive. And this was a very scary thing for the people who work here in for the people who live in this community and they are saying we were denied testing after we were exposed in theyre also saying not enough is being done now to stop this from happening in the future so that is why today theyre saying enough is enough we have to stand up. And weve seen the staff here before strike before theyre not afraid to stand up and stand up for what they believe in and the hospital though telling us a different story, i just talked with with a staff member here and with executive. Here the chief executive and he told me exactly what the statement is what you hear from him next hour, but he said that saint health saying they were going off the guidance of the cdc and the county Health Department saying all caregivers believed to have highrisk exposure from the incident completed 3 rounds of testing and there was no additional covid19 positive caregivers or patients identified. They said a part of a much longer statement the hospital continues saying they all caregivers who are exposed. Tell me how do you feel hearing that statement theyre saying everyone was tested what would really happen in your eyes actually thats not they did not they tested the people who they deemed. Were worthy of a test. They didnt do widespread testing. It and thats kind of what weve been asking for him and they didnt even do randomized testing of employees to try and get a a sense of where the outbreak was in that span are kind of our the issue has been you know their Contact Tracing has been terrible i mean during you just spoke of our strike. We actually had an employee who was out here on the strike line and cold a week later after the strike and told that during the strike they were exposed working that tested and that the employee was out here on strickland, they werent even in the hospital during that week. Other instances people were told 2 to 3 weeks later. And its you its its upsetting its also though they cite that the cdc one of the things about the cdc guidelines is is it says in in moments of Staffing Shortage. This is can go back if they dont symptoms they dont have to isolate because of a Staffing Shortage. And this is a Staffing Shortage that was created by this they perpetually understaffed so of course when you start having Staff Members. Are exposed and coming back and working and not isolating thats going to perpetuated. They did little nothing. To. Stop this. You know to spur social distancing, you know it wasnt until callow show showed up recently that they started putting dividers in break rooms. In trying to limit limit the exposure. So i think that that is the price that we paid is a hospital, not slowing down and moving forward and pushing for elective surgeries and you get an outbreak.
