Well the Bay Area Police union is urging reform after a spike in Fatal Police Shootings mostly involving African Americans leaders with the Vallejo Police union say that they want to work with the city and the police chief on reforms to improve the department kron fours Jonathan Mccall reports. The Police Officers Association Says officers are open and ready to implement reform changes here in the city. But the citys top cop says its not what hes heard so far with the Police Officers Association Says its officers are looking for a new chapter for the city and the department we see it as an opportunity to him. Are on board with the idea of having new and innovative policing policies in order to improve the Department Position us as somehow an impediment to change and reform. And to the contrary. An autopsy that showed officers fired 55 rounds at willie mccoy in 2019 hitting him a total of 38 times and just earlier this month, the city reached a nearly 6 Million Dollars settlement with the family of foster who was also shot and killed by Vallejo Police. Well to the south bay now settles a police are searching for suspects and a possible motive in a deadly shooting that happened tuesday night at around 10 at south 8th and reed streets in san jose 2 men died 3 others and a woman were hurt. Well officers responded to an earlier 911 call from that same area, but they couldnt say if those 2 calls were related. Well Santa Clara County Health Officials announced an enhanced testing order to ensure access to readily available covid19 testing. The new order expands the definition of essential worker requiring Insurance Companies to provide free testing for workers like teachers Grocery Store employees and Health Care Providers and also sets mandatory timelines for patients to ensure they get tested quickly and get their results sooner as well. We are grateful that the county has announced an order that is going to demolish the labyrinth that too many of our residents have found themselves when theyre trying to find their way to get to test inc. County Officials Say that the order is mandatory and violations of the order can result in fines and other penalties. Unlike other counties in the bay area Alameda County has not been given the green light to advance and open up more businesses but this doesnt mean that the county is in a covid crisis. Governor newsome says flames from those fires have burned more than 3. 4 million acres and destroyed more than 4,000 structures. Were still roughly 38,000 people still cannot return to their homes. Wildfires burning in the bay area are almost fully contained were getting there the lnu complex fires and the scu complex ayers are both 98 contain the czu complex fires in san mateo and santa cruz counties are at 95 containment. Full containment of the czu lightning complex fires is expected by sunday. The fires have destroyed 925 homes in san mateo and santa cruz counties, including the mark guard read she and her family they they raise be fair.
