( robin ) ( robin ) our top story this morning... bart police releasing the entire body camera video.. from a deadly officer-involved shooting. we first told you about this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news... the release of the video comes one day after part of it was leaked online. the shooting happened back on january third.... shaleem tindle was killed when a bart police officer shot the 28-year-old across the street from the west oakland bart station. we're going to play an extended clip from the video. we do want to warn you -- it is graphic. ( robin ) police are investigating a homicide in fairfield. it happened yesterday morning. officers released this photo of a man who they believe is a suspect. police say the murder victim and suspect knew each other...and the homicide was not a random act. the body of a 28-year-old man was found in a parking lot on empire street in south fairfield. police say the male victim is from benicia... and they have not yet released his name. ( robin ) a popular menlo park restaurant is preparing to close its' doors. the owners of the oasis in menlo park announced on facebook that after 60 years they are shutting down next month. they released a statement saying they were unable to negotiate a reasonable lease for the business. customers we spoke with were shocked... saying that they had been going to the oasis for decades. have arrested this man after they say he exposed himself to children while watching them at gymnastics practice. he is richard salcida. he has prior arrests for similar acts in other cities in santa clara county and was recently released from jail after being convicted of indecent exposure. at that time he was required to register as a sex offender. ( robin ) four people are sent to the hospital in four separate stabbings in san francisco. the stabbings happened on monday and tuesday. the first happened monday night when an alleged shoplifter slashed the person who tried to stop her on the 1300 block of stockton street. then about 30 minutes later a man was stabbed while walking to his car near taylor and ellis streets. in that case there were three attackers. at that same time another man was stabbed while trying to stop a robbery at union square. and the last stabbing happened early tuesday morning near mission street and silver avenue. in that case a man was stabbed before having his backpack stolen. all four of the victims are expected to be okay. ( robin ) happening now.... san francisco police are looking for the person who attacked a man with a hatchet. it happened in the tenderloin early tuesday morning near u-c hastings school of law. police say the victim was walking home... when someone started yelling and then attacking. the victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. no arrests have been made. ( robin ) police are looking for an oakland man who is missing after a hiking trip in yosemite. it's been five days since loved ones have heard frmo alan chow. on saturday he went to yosemite to go hiking by himself... which he does often according to family members. when he didn't show up for work on tuesday, co-workers called his family... and then yosemite officials. ( robin ) three ground crews and a helicopter searched for alan in yosemite on wednesday... but did not have any luck. ( robin ) a 69- year old military veteran is heartbroken .... after trying to help a homeless woman in fairfield. she invited the woman into her home, as the temperatures dropped. but now says, that homeless woman stole her car. sharon larson says she was homeless herself in the late 90's and eventually got back on her feet. so when she saw a homeless woman outside the fairfield mcdonalds... sharon invited the woman to stay with her. the woman stayed monday night. sharon did her laundry and fed her. when sharon came out of the bathroom tuesday night the homeless woman named lynn was gone and so were sharon's car keys. ( robin ) lynn stole sharon's 2011 mazda cx-7... midnight blue in color. it is the only car sharon has ever owned. ( robin ) police in san jose are looking for the people who stole a truck... and then rammed it into a patrol car. it happened monday night near teatree court and thornton way. the officer was ánot hurt. the truck was later found abandoned near patton avenue and scott street. police are looking for two more cars... that they believe are connected to this crime. ( robin ) a bart passenger is assaulted by a group of teenagers trying to steal a cell phone. it happened tuesday at the powell street bart station in downtown san francisco. the bart passenger was confronted on a train by four teenagers who tried to snatch the phone. when the passenger refused... there was a struggle that went onto the bart platform. that is when the victim fell and the teens were able to run off with the phone. ( robin ) bart officials are telling riders to be careful if you sit by the door way with your phone or your laptop. they say don't have them out when the doors open. ( robin ) one-point-five billion dollars - that's how much money california mayors are asking from the state to combat homelessness. several of the mayors are calling this the single biggest quality of life crisis in the state. this year almost 135-thousand people are homeless in california. yesterday mayors from 11 major cities joined state lawmakers to support a bill that would set aside money for cities to fight homelessness. there is no word on when the state legislature will vote on that bill. ( robin ) a warning this morning from santa cruz police... after they discovered an 11- year old child had planned to harm 3 other elementary school students. kron 4's dan kerman has the details. it's here at bay view elementary school in santa cruz where police say an 11 year old intended to harm several other students.police discovered this after the 5th grader lost control in class tuesday afternoon.sot andrew mills/santa cruz police chief 12-19he was vandalizing property, throwing it out the classroom, just really having an emotional outburstas per protocol, a teacher evacuated the other students and the police department's school resource officer was contacted as the child barricaded himself inside the classroom. when police arrived he was safely removed from the school and taken to a healthcare facility. only later did police discover he planned to harm other students.sotthe child had targeted three different students to harm them and that was the unspecified threat that he was going to harm these students. police say the 11 year old had ongoing issues with other students prior to tuesday but would not elaborate as what that was. after learning of the threat, police removed a licensed handgun that was in the 11 year old's home out of an abundance of caution.sotthe gun was in the house in a room accessible to the child, but there was a cable in the gun so in the parents mind it was secure.but not secure enough for police though they can't say whether the child intended to use the gun to carry out his threat.sot michelle stroet/grandparentterrifying, i have 4 children and 3 grandchildren and i have them in 3 different schools in santa cruz county.this woman's granddaughter attends a preschool located on the bay view elementary campussot i am so grateful to whoever handled itstandup dan kerman/santa cruz 137-147both police and the school district will review the incident to make sure protocol was followed and whether anything needs to change. they will also host a meeting for parents here at the school thursday afternoon. in santa cruz, dan kerman kron4news.154/std ( robin ) milpitas police have arrested michelle rodriguez and rudy cordero ... after a police chase. monday morning ... officers recognized the stolen honda on vegas avenue near warm springs boulevard. when officers tried to pull the car over ... the driver took off. the car drove through a stop sign, lost control and rammed into a tree. police say, the two then got out of the car and ran. they were both tracked down and arrested. rodriguez is facing a string of charges, including possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants. cordero is charged with stolen property and resisting arrest. ( darya ) police arrest a man accused of stealing nearly 250-thousand dollars worth of jewelry from a department store in san francisco. toby kessler is accused of robbing the same jewelry store three different times this year. police have not said which store was targeted... only that it was in the stonestown mall. these are some the items that police recovered. the most recent robbery happened last friday. employees called police and they were able to track kessler down. ( darya ) a bart passenger is assaulted by a group of teenagers trying to steal a cell phone. it happened tuesday at the powell street bart station in downtown san francisco. the bart passenger was confronted on a train by four teens who tried to snatch the phone. when the passenger refused... there was a struggle that went onto the bart platform. that's when the victim fell and the teens were able to run off with ( darya ) bart officials are telling riders to be careful if you sit by the door way with your phone or your laptop. they say don't have them out when the doors open. ( darya ) an attempted kidnapping in southern california ends with a stranger rescuing a young girl. 12-year-old amy martinez says she was walking to school when a woman grabbed her out of nowhere. martinez yelled out for help as the woman held on to her. another woman driving by saw what was happening. she pulled over and came up with a little white lie to save the girl. ( darya ) police arrested claudia hernandez diaz for the crime, who they say is homeless. ( james ) four people are sent to the hospital in four separate stabbings in san francisco. the stabbings happened on monday and tuesday. the first happened monday night when a shoplifter slashed the person who tried to stop her on stockton street. then about 30 minutes later... a man was stabbed while walking to his car near taylor and ellis streets. in that case there were three attackers. at that same time.... another man was stabbed while trying to stop a robbery at union square. and the last stabbing happened early tuesday morning near mission street and silver avenue. in that case a man was stabbed before having his backpack stolen. all four of the victims are expected to be okay. ( james ) happening now.... san francisco police are looking for the person who attacked a man with a hatchet. it happened in the tenderloin early tuesday morning near u-c hastings school of law. police say the victim was walking home... when someone started yelling and then attacking. the victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. no arrests have been made. ( darya ) in the south bay... police in sunnyvale have arrested this man after they say he exposed himself to children while watching them at gymnastics practice. he is richard salcida. he has prior arrests for similar acts in other cities in santa clara county and was recently released from jail after being convicted of indecent exposure. at that time he was required to register as a =( darya ) in the east bay... police are looking for two gunman ... after two people were hurt during a carjacking in oakland. it happened around 6:30 tuesday night near garfield elementary school. police say the two gunmen shot at least one of the victims in the elbow before taking off. the men car-jacked were taken to the hospital. they're in stable condition. ( darya ) a 69- year old military veteran is heartbroken .... after trying to help a homeless woman in fairfield. she invited the woman into her home, as the temperatures dropped. but now says, that homeless woman stole her car. sharon larson says she was homeless herself in the late 90's and eventually got back on her feet. so when she saw a homeless woman outside the fairfield mcdonalds... sharon invited the woman to stay with her. the woman stayed monday night. sharon did her laundry and fed her. when sharon came out of the bathroom tuesday night the homeless woman named lynn was gone and so were sharon's car keys. ( darya ) lynn stole sharon's 2011 mazda cx-7... midnight blue in color. it is the only car sharon has ever owned. ( darya )( darya ) san francisco's marina district has seen a rise in property crimes... especially car break-ins. and the people who live there are fed up. the marina community association met with officials to dicuss the issue last night. some people said that they wanted harsher punishment for car-break ins. others said san francisco should follow programs from other cities that have been effective. ( darya ) the marina the marina the marina community association plans to meet twice a month with officials to come up with a solution to this problem. ( james ) a local high school wrestler -- paralyzed during a match -- is making progress in his recovery. ryan joseph suffered a spinal cord injury last month while competing for college park high school in pleasant hill. he's now at a rehab hospital in denver. we're learning that ryan is expected to return to the bay area in mid-april. his physical therapist says he now has use of his arms... his feeding tube is out... and he's started eating solid foods. over the weekend-- ryan was able to leave the hospital and attend the colorado state wrestling championships. ( darya ) this morning an oakland man is missing after a hiking trip in yosemite. it's been five days since loved ones have heard from alan chow. on saturday he went to yosemite to go hiking by himself. when he didn't show up for work on tuesday, co-workers called his family... and then yosemite officials. ( darya ) three ground crews and a helicopter searched for chow in yosemite yesterday but there was no sign of the man. ( darya ) police arrest a man accused of stealing nearly 250-thousand dollars worth of jewelry from a department store in san francisco. toby kessler is accused of robbing the same jewelry store three different times this year. police have not said which store was targeted... only that it was in the stonestown mall. these are some the items that police recovered. the most recent robbery happened last friday. employees called police and they were able to track kessler down. ( darya ) a bart passenger is assaulted by a group of teenagers trying to steal a cell phone. it happened tuesday at the powell street bart station in downtown san francisco. the bart passenger was confronted on a train by four teens who tried to snatch the phone. when the passenger refused... there was a struggle that went onto the bart platform. that's when the victim fell and the teens were able to run off with the phone. ( darya ) bart officials are telling riders to be careful if you sit by the door way with your phone or your laptop. they say them out when open. ( james ) milpitas police arrest two people after a car chase that ended in a crash. monday morning... officers recognized a stolen honda on vegas avenue near warm springs boulevard. when officers tried to pull the car over... the driver took off. the car drove through a stop sign... lost control and rammed into a tree. police say the two people inside -- michelle rodriguez and rudy cordero -- then got out of the car and ran. they were both tracked down and arrested. rodriguez is facing a string of charges, including possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants. cordero is charged with stolen property and resisting arrest. ( james ) in san francisco... city officials are calling the rash of car are calling the rash of car break-ins an epidemic. now the district attorney has unveiled a new plan to fight the crime. a new digital tip-line has been set-up... where witnesses can turn over evidence to help solve these cases. anyone who sees a crime... can call or email in suspect descriptions.... or submit pictures and video. even pictures or video going back several years can be submitted. the d-a's office wants to make clear that victims should also file a traditional police report. you can find a link to the tipline on our website at kron4-dot-com. ( james ) police are investigating a homicide in fairfield. it happened yesterday morning. officers released this photo of a man who they believe is a suspect. police say the murder victim and suspect knew each other... and the homicide was not random act. the body of a 28-year-old man was found in a parking lot on empire street in south fairfield around. police say the male victim is from benicia... and they have not yet released his name. ( darya ) one-point-five billion dollars... that's how much money california mayors are asking from the state to combat homelessness. several of the mayors are calling this the single biggest quality of life crisis in the state. this year almost 135-thousand people are homeless in california. yesterday... mayors from 11 major cities joined state lawmakers to support a bill that would set aside money for cities to fight homelessness. there is no word on when the state legislature will vote on that bill.
