( marty ) another amazing fleet week airshow is in the books and another is set for later today. an estimated one million people came to the city to watch some of the best, most precise piloting in the world. kron four's spencer blake was there to take in the show. (nats: planes roaring)the roar of planes.the trails of smoke. and the oohs and ahhs fro mthe crowd.the fleet week air show wowed thousands gathered at the marina green."i love the air show. i've been watching it ever since i was like six years old and i just love it. i love the people, i love the atmosphere and everything around it."this family comes to fleet week every year. before the blue angels came out, the famous shawn tucker filled the air with his corkscrew paths and his seemingly gravity-defying stunts.hannah was a first-timer at the air show. "i'm actually pretty impressed. this is much different than i was expecting, and this is quite the elite crowd."group everyone had been waiting navy's blue angels - flew in in diamond formation, with their wingtips just 18 inches from each other! the stunts they perform, the coordination and it all.""i love how they go upside down, really high in the air they drop down."phone videos don't do the blue angels justice, but people everywhere had the instinct to record what they could."i think the corkscrew definitely takes my breath away, and i actually get a little bit fearful. when they're doing that exact move, that's probably my most favorite ( marty @ landing) and happening today... thousands more people are expected back in the city today as the fleet week festivities continue. kron 4's camila bernal is live at the marina green with more on what to expect today. ( camila )good morning marty, fleet week is coming to an end but there are plenty of events today for anyone who wants to come down and enjoy some time with the family, while watching the blue angels. the last air show will begin at noon and it will end at around 4pm. there will be different military planes participating but the blue angels will be flying at around 3pm. the best views include marina green and crissy field but you'll be able to see them from different parts of the bay. here at marina green, there will be a festival open to the public that begins at around 10am. you'll also be able to see members of the military participating in emergency response exercises. you'll be able to meet them, ask questions or just simply thank them for their service. today is the last air show but some of the ships will still be open tomorrow in case you're still interested in that.reporting live in san francisco, camila bernal kron 4 news ( marty ) thanks camila. ( marty ) in the north bay... police are looking for the person who stole hundreds of dollars worth of goods from a costco in novato. it's the same store where jewelry was stolen in a smash and grab robbery this summer. here is the man police are looking for. they saw him walking out of the store with a camera system that he didn't purchase. they also found an empty box of the items he appeared to take. in july, three men entered this same location location, smashed jewelry cases and ran off with about 50-thousand dollars worth of jewelry. that incident came two months after a danville location was also struck twice by thieves. thefts have occurred at costco locations in hayward as well. we spoke to costco customers who say they say they'd like to see more security . ( marty ) novato police say the theft in july is still under investigation. and they ask that if you recognize the suspect in the latest incident to call novato police. ( marty ) another big story we are following this morning... a missing two-year-old girl has been found safe. jalanie fortson was abducted in san francisco yesterday afternoon. two men are now in police custody in connection with the abduction. they are 21- year-old javonn fortson and 22- year-old lipine faafiu. (marty) coming up... a south bay teacher is in jail this morning... we'll have what he is accused of doing to a student. plus... what north bay cyclists are saying as a hit-and-run driver is still on the loose. and it's about to get more expensive to stream some of your favorite t-v shows and movies. we'll tell you how much more... after the break. money: .here are the stories from the week -- that could impact your bottom line. --( marty ) get ready to pay a little more to stream some of your favorite shows and movies. netflix is raising the rate for some of its subscription plans. the service's most popular plan will now cost 10 dollars and 99 cents a month -- a one dollar increase. the premium plan will go up by two dollars -- to 13-99 a month. the basic plan will remain unchanged at seven-99.. netflix has already started raising the cost for new subscribers in the u-s. the price increase will begin for current subscribers - october 19th. ( marty ) in the south bay... a music teacher is in jail accused of extorting sex from his student for years. kron 4's ella sogomonian has more. sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "samuel kneipp was arrested here at dartmouth middle school on friday. but he was also an assistant music director at a high school one mile away where students i spoke with were disgusted by the allegations but not surprised." 34-year-old music teacher samuel kneipp is accused of forcing sex on a 13 year old student at darthmouth middle school.police believe he extorted the child for three years threatening to post nude photos.neipp was also the assistant band director at branham high where word of the arrest is traveling fast.sot: rachel ross, branham high sophomore // "i have friends who went to dartmouth and when this happened they came and told me they were disappointed but not surprised."a previous band student of his told me off camera kneipp seemed like a cool teacher and wouldn't have thought much of his close interaction with kids hanging out after class and connecting on social media apps like instagram.sot: lisa semisca, branham high parent// "he has no business interacting with students outside of school on social media it's just inappropriate."kneipp faces at least four felony charges related to sex acts with a minor, extortion and child pornography.sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "the school district has not released a statement to kron 4 yet but a parent at the high school tells me band practice has been cancelled. in san jose ella sogomonian kron 4 news:" ( marty ) four bicyclists were injured after being hit by a truck in novato. and police are searching for the driver. it happened just before noon yesterday near the intersection of point reyes- petaluma road and hicks valley road. the bicyclists were riding in a charity event for marin county bicycle coalition. authorities say the four bicyclists were hit by a blue dodge ram truck. and the driver immediately took off. the c-h-p says one person was airlifted to the hospital in critical-condition. the other three were hospitalized with less severe injuries. ( marty ) authorities say nearly one- thousand bicyclists ride in the event each year. ( marty ) a rohnert park man faces 25-years to life sentence if he is convicted of just one of the 8 armed robberies he is accused of in marin and sonoma counties. police say 51-year-old william hodges admitted to the recent string of robberies that date back to august. he is accused of robbing tanning salons in windsor and petaluma. and a bakery in cotati among other businesses. hodges was arrested monday. he is being held on 2- million dollars bail. his arraignment is on wednesday. ( marty ) after months of demonstrations and political turmoil, governor brown signed a bill to make california a sanctuary state. an oakland city councilman understood the humanatarian spirit of the bill. but questioned how his already strained community could respond to the possible increase of undocumented immigrants the legislation might attract. in oakland say they are already stretched with a homeless population that has reached crisis levels. (marty) in case you're going to see the blue angels in person this afternoon -- grant lodes shows us some of the best places along the waterfront to catch the show. okay, requirement number one: can i see alcatraz?because that's where the blue angels do some of their coolest stuff check out this fleur de lys from last year.natalmost as important a view of the golden gate for the thrilling sight of the f/a 18 hornets rippling low over the bridge.so let's look at the alternatives, east to west starting with pier 39.a good view of alcatraz, plenty of food options but not much elbow room.and you have to factor in cost of parking and the hassle of getting there.nat aquatic park is also jammed during the blue angels show.it has most of the same advantages and disadvantages of pier 39 .. plus your view of the golden gate bridge can be blocked.you're better off heading to fort mason.the waterfront is bound to be crowded, but the hillside behind the fort is a great vantage point to catch maneuvers like this one.nat wheels and tailhooks down in what's called a dirty formation, one of the jets flips over to provide a mirror image of the other."a sight to see for sure."the marina green is prime real estate and like the neighborhood, it's pricy. ( marty ) in the north bay... police are looking for the person who stole hundreds of dollars worth of goods from a costco in novato. it's the same store where jewelry was stolen in a smash and grab robbery this summer. here is the man police are looking for. they saw him walking out of the store with a camera system that he didn't purchase. they also found an empty box of the items he appeared to take. in july, three men entered this same location location, smashed jewelry cases and ran off with about 50-thousand dollars worth of jewelry. that incident came two months after a danville location was also struck twice by thieves. thefts have occurred at costco locations in hayward as well. we spoke to costco customers who say they say they'd like to see more security . outside the facility. i see they still have their displays and really expensive jewelry. maybe they should just have a picture of it and keep it behind locked doors.> ( marty ) novato police say the theft in july is still under investigation. and they ask that if you recognize the suspect in the latest incident to call novato police. (nearly 100 people are killed by guns each day in the u.s. and another 200 injured.)there's been a lot of attention on gun control, as there always is after a mass shooting like this. but you say there's a problem with that. can you explain why? (gun control focuses on banning automatic/semiautomatic weapons and they're not the problem.)so, if banning "bump stocks" and automatic or semiautomatic weapons is not the solution, what is? what is the source of the problem? (two-thirds of gun deaths are suicides and the majority of gun deaths are due to handguns. mass shootings with automatic weapons are actually rare events.)you said there were a couple of problems with the way we think about gun violence. what's the other problem? or you've talked before about the need to focus on gender and "toxic masculinity." can you say more about that? (gun violence = male violence. nearly 9 out of 10 of people killed by guns are male. more than 9 of 10 people who kill others with guns are male. and nearly 9 of 10 people who kill themselves with a gun are male.)so, when we ask why men kill themselves and others, what answers do we come up with? ( marty ) in the south bay... a music teacher is in jail accused of extorting sex from his student for years. kron 4's ella sogomonian has more. sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "samuel kneipp was arrested here at dartmouth middle school on friday. but he was also an assistant music director at a high school one mile away where students i spoke with were disgusted by the allegations but not surprised." 34-year-old music teacher samuel kneipp is accused of forcing sex on a 13 year old student at darthmouth middle school.police believe he extorted the child for three years threatening to post nude photos.neipp was also the assistant band director at branham high where word of the arrest is traveling fast.sot: rachel ross, branham high sophomore // "i have friends who went to dartmouth and when this happened they came and told me they were disappointed but not surprised."a previous band student of his told me off camera kneipp seemed like a cool teacher and wouldn't have thought much of his close interaction with kids hanging out after class and connecting on social media apps like instagram.sot: lisa semisca, branham high parent// "he has no business interacting with students outside of school on social media it's just inappropriate."kneipp faces at least four felony charges related to sex acts with a minor, extortion and child pornography.sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "the school district has not released a statement to kron 4 yet but a parent at the high school tells me band practice has been cancelled. in san jose ella sogomonian kron 4 news:" ( marty ) just into the kron4 newsroom -- one person has been arrested after four bicyclists were injured after being hit by a truck in novato. it happened just before noon yesterday near the intersection of point reyes- petaluma road and hicks valley road. the bicyclists were riding in a charity event for marin county bicycle coalition. authorities say the four bicyclists were hit by a blue dodge ram truck. and the driver immediately took off. the c-h-p says one person was airlifted to the hospital in critical-condition. the other three were hospitalized with less severe injuries. ( marty ) a rohnert park man faces 25-years to life sentence if he is convicted of just one of the 8 armed robberies he is accused of in marin and sonoma counties. police say 51-year-old william hodges admitted to the recent string of robberies that date back to august. he is accused of robbing tanning salons in windsor and petaluma. and a bakery in cotati among other businesses. hodges was arrested monday. he is being held on 2- million dollars bail. his arraignment is on wednesday. ( marty ) another amazing fleet week airshow is in the books and another is set for later today. an estimated one million people came to the city to watch some of the best, most precise piloting in the world. kron four's spencer blake was there to take in the show. (nats: planes roaring)the roar of planes.the trails of smoke. and the oohs and ahhs fro mthe crowd.the fleet week air show wowed thousands gathered at the marina green."i love the air show. i've been watching it ever since i was like six years old and i just love it. i love the people, i love the atmosphere and everything around it."this family comes to fleet week every year. before the blue angels came out, the famous shawn tucker filled the air with his corkscrew paths and his seemingly gravity-defying stunts.hannah was a first-timer at the air show. "i'm actually pretty impressed. this is much different than i was expecting, and this is quite the elite crowd."group everyone had been waiting navy's blue angels - flew in in diamond formation, with their wingtips just 18 inches from each other! the stunts they perform, the coordination and it all.""i love how they go upside down, really high in the air they drop down."phone videos don't do the blue angels justice, but people everywhere had the instinct to record what they could."i think the corkscrew definitely takes my breath away, and i actually get a little bit fearful. when they're doing that exact move, that's probably my most favorite ( marty @ landing) and happening today... thousands more people are expected back in the city today as the fleet week festivities continue. kron 4's camila bernal is live at the marina green with more on what to expect today. ( camila )good morning marty, fleet week is coming to an end but there are plenty of events today for anyone who wants to come down and enjoy some time with the family, while watching the blue angels. the last air show will begin at noon and it will end at around 4pm. there will be different military planes participating but the blue angels will be flying at around 3pm. the best views include marina green and crissy field but you'll be able to see them from different parts of the bay. here at marina green, there will be a festival open to the public that begins at around 10am. you'll also be able to see members of the military participating in emergency response exercises. you'll be able to meet them, ask questions or just simply thank them for their service. today is the last air show but some of the ships will still be open tomorrow in case you're still interested in that.reporting live in san francisco, camila bernal kron 4 news ( marty ) thanks camila. ( marty ) in the north bay... police are looking for the person who stole hundreds of dollars worth of goods from a costco in novato. it's the same store where jewelry was stolen in a smash and grab robbery this summer. here is the man police are looking for. they saw him walking out of the store with a camera system that he didn't purchase. they also found an empty box of the items he appeared to take. in july, three men entered this same location location, smashed jewelry cases and ran off with about 50-thousand dollars worth of jewelry. that incident came two months after a danville location was also struck twice by thieves. thefts have occurred at costco locations in hayward as well. we spoke to costco customers who say they say they'd like to see more security . ( marty ) novato police say the theft in july is still under investigation. and they ask that if you recognize the suspect in the latest incident to call novato police. ( marty ) another big story we are following this morning... a missing two-year-old girl has been found safe. jalanie fortson was abducted in san francisco yesterday afternoon. two men are now in police custody in connection with the abduction. they are 21- year-old javonn fortson and 22- year-old lipine faafiu. (marty) coming up... a south bay teacher is in jail this morning... we'll have what he is accused of doing to a student. plus... what north bay cyclists are saying as a hit-and-run driver is still on the loose. and it's about to get more expensive to stream some of your favorite t-v shows and movies. we'll tell you how much more... after the break. money: .here are the stories from the week -- that could impact your bottom line. --( marty ) get ready to pay a little more to stream some of your favorite shows and movies. netflix is raising the rate for some of its subscription plans. the service's most popular plan will now cost 10 dollars and 99 cents a month -- a one dollar increase. the premium plan will go up by two dollars -- to 13-99 a month. the basic plan will remain unchanged at seven-99.. netflix has already started raising the cost for new subscribers in the u-s. the price increase will begin for current subscribers - october 19th. ( marty ) in the south bay... a music teacher is in jail accused of extorting sex from his student for years. kron 4's ella sogomonian has more. sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "samuel kneipp was arrested here at dartmouth middle school on friday. but he was also an assistant music director at a high school one mile away where students i spoke with were disgusted by the allegations but not surprised." 34-year-old music teacher samuel kneipp is accused of forcing sex on a 13 year old student at darthmouth middle school.police believe he extorted the child for three years threatening to post nude photos.neipp was also the assistant band director at branham high where word of the arrest is traveling fast.sot: rachel ross, branham high sophomore // "i have friends who went to dartmouth and when this happened they came and told me they were disappointed but not surprised."a previous band student of his told me off camera kneipp seemed like a cool teacher and wouldn't have thought much of his close interaction with kids hanging out after class and connecting on social media apps like instagram.sot: lisa semisca, branham high parent// "he has no business interacting with students outside of school on social media it's just inappropriate."kneipp faces at least four felony charges related to sex acts with a minor, extortion and child pornography.sot: ella sogomonian, san jose// "the school district has not released a statement to kron 4 yet but a parent at the high school tells me band practice has been cancelled. in san jose ella sogomonian kron 4 news:" ( marty ) four bicyclists were injured after being hit by a truck in novato. and police are searching for the driver. it happened just before noon yesterday near the intersection of point reyes- petaluma road and hicks valley road. the bicyclists were riding in a charity event for marin county bicycle coalition. authorities say the four bicyclists were hit by a blue dodge ram truck. and the driver immediately took off. the c-h-p says one person was airlifted to the hospital in critical-condition. the other three were hospitalized with less severe injuries. ( marty ) authorities say nearly one- thousand bicyclists ride in the event each year. ( marty ) a rohnert park man faces 25-years to life sentence if he is convicted of just one of the 8 armed robberies he is accused of in marin and sonoma counties. police say 51-year-old william hodges admitted to the recent string of robberies that date back to august. he is accused of robbing tanning salons in windsor and petaluma. and a bakery in cotati among other businesses. hodges was arrested monday. he is being held on 2- million dollars bail. his arraignment is on wednesday. ( marty ) in the north bay... police are looking for the person who stole hundreds of dollars worth of goods from a costco in novato. it's the same store where jewelry was stolen in a smash and grab robbery this summer. here is the man police are looking for. they saw him walking out of the store with a camera system that he didn't purchase. they also found an empty box of the items he appeared to take. in july, three men entered this same location location, smashed jewelry cases and ran off with about 50-thousand dollars worth of jewelry. that incident came two months after a danville location was also struck twice by thieves. thefts have occurred at costco locations in hayward as well. we spoke to costco customers who say they say they'd like to see more security . outside the facility. i see they still have their displays and really expensive jewelry. maybe they should just have a picture of it and keep it behind locked doors.> ( marty ) novato police say the theft in july is still under investigation. and they ask that if you recognize the suspect in the latest incident to call novato police. (gun control focuses on banning automatic/semiautomatic weapons and they're not the problem.)so, if banning "bump stocks" and automatic or semiautomatic weapons is not the solution, what is? what is the source of the problem? ( marty ) in the north bay... police are looking for the person who stole hundreds of dollars worth of goods from a costco in novato. it's the same store where jewelry was stolen in a smash and grab robbery this summer. here is the man police are looking for. they saw him walking out of the store with a camera system that he didn't purchase. they also found an empty box of the items he appeared to take. in july, three men entered this same location location, smashed jewelry cases and ran off with about 50-thousand dollars worth of jewelry. that incident came two months after a danville location was also struck twice by thieves. thefts have occurred at costco locations in hayward as well. we spoke to costco customers who say they say they'd like to see more security . much security there. no one to stop anybody from coming in. no deterrents i think. i've gone to other costcos. and i see that there's security outside the facility. i see they still have their displays and really expensive jewelry. maybe they should just have a picture of it and keep it behind locked doors.> ( marty ) novato police say the theft in july is still under investigation. and they ask that if you recognize the suspect in the latest incident to call novato police. ( marty ) a rohnert park man faces 25-years to life sentence if he is convicted of just one of the 8 armed robberies he is accused of in marin and sonoma counties. police say 51-year-old william hodges admitted to the recent string of robberies that date back to august. he is accused of robbing tanning salons in windsor and petaluma. and a bakery in cotati among other businesses. hodges was arrested monday. he is being held on 2- million dollars bail. his arraignment is on wednesday. (philippe)nats- the tim o'brien band a fan favorite. music lovers couldn't contain themselves on the lawn at golden gate park... and, why should they... it's a free concert, and an event keith nevitt says he's been coming to every year for the past 17 years.keith nevitt/fan- "we call it the happiest day of the year out here."nats- during the course of the three-day event... organizers expect a half million people to attend.molly allen/fan- "everybody is really happy and very welcoming."haley berkoe/fan- "the weather is really nice today -- it's a beautiful day in san francisco and it's fleet week. so, its really good energy today." and, in light of what happened in las vegas... we asked visitors if they felt comfortable coming here to the festival... and, many said that the tragedy was certainly on their mind.keith nevitt/fan- "not hesitant, i mean, i think you gotta keep doing what you're doing. it's a great time. i think, you know, maybe you take a few extra thoughts and looks over there. but i think this shows how great people are and how great it could be to be together with others. (keith) oh yeah."dennis juarez/organizer- "i feel 100- percent confident that people are safe."nats- in addition to private security guards posted near a half dozen stages... san francisco park rangers were keeping an eye on the crowds... so was the san francisco police department... with officers and heavily armed tactical teams walking the festival. committed to preventing anything like happened in vegas from taking place here.molly allen/fan- "it definitely crossed my mind at one point. but i think with ramping up security and you know, the fact that everyone here is pretty open hearted, i would hope that that wouldn't happen in san francisco, but you never know." still, the increased patrols didn't put a damper on the festival. and, there's still another day of dancing to go. in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news. (marty) in case you're going to see the blue angels in person this afternoon -- grant lodes shows us some of the best places along the waterfront to catch the show. okay, requirement number one: can i see alcatraz?because that's where the blue angels do some of their coolest stuff check out this fleur de lys from last year.natalmost as important a view of the golden gate for the thrilling sight of the f/a 18 hornets rippling low over the bridge.so let's look at the alternatives, east to west starting with pier 39.a good view of alcatraz, plenty of food options but not much elbow room.and you have to factor in cost of parking and the hassle of getting there.nat aquatic park is also jammed during the blue angels show.it has most of the same advantages and disadvantages of pier 39 .. plus your view of the golden gate bridge can be blocked.you're better off heading to fort mason.the waterfront is bound to be crowded, but the hillside behind the fort is a great vantage point to catch maneuvers like this one.nat wheels and tailhooks down in what's called a dirty formation, one of the jets flips over to provide a mirror image of the other."a sight to see for sure."the marina green is prime real estate and like the neighborhood, it's pricy. (grant s/u) if you have the cash and want a guaranteed first class experience, big baller style, the marina green might be for you, food, drinks, a reserved seat will cost you 55 to 75 dollars, depending on the day.club seating runs up to 250 dollars. natsome other choices to consider: the red and white and blue and gold ferry boats are offering special cruises. the world war two liberty ship jeremiah o'brien is offering special blue angel cruises on saturday and sunday.one popular spot is off this year's list:treasure island officials say they are strongly discouraging visitos. that's because costruction projects have restricted access to viewing areas and parking lots. ( marty ) want to work out without getting off your couch? then, watch sports. reaserchers have found watching sports can have the same effect on your heart as exercise. and when you're watching a real intense game, your heart rate goes through the roof, increasing by 75 per-cent ! and if you are at the stadium watching it in person. your heart rate goes up 110 percent. doctors do warn people who have heart problems about the potential dangers linked to being to invested into games. ( marty ) the dog that was found running on bart tracks in oakland, causing major train delays is now looking for a home. it happened a few weeks ago.ú the dog has been renamed bart. he loves climbing onto laps, getting his belly rubbed and promises to never go back onto bart tracks. if you're intrested in adopting bart contact the oakland animal shelter.
