trump bernie sanders did not get a chance to speak at his own rally. black lives matter interrupted the sender -- senator in front of several thousand people. the group took over the micro chanting about ferguson and michael brown. sanders stepped away and waiting to those in the audience. a year after his sons death michael brown senior says he and the family are still mourning. brown spoke today at a parade and ferguson to honor his son who was shot and killed by an officer on august 9th 2014. about 200 people gathered at the site of the shooting that spark the national black lives that that when my son is no longer here. that he's the victim. >> hammond state police have not given them answers so they went looking for their own. an independent autopsy shows their son was shot from behind and at close range. the car was stopped at the time of the shooting >> it's been very hard. not only are we grieving that our son is gone we don't know why it happened or what happened. and we are just trying to find answers. >> the officer involved is a 10- year veteran and has no history of getting in trouble. in a statement to lose attorney with the blame on the 19-year-old hammond in degrees to 10 degrees. san francisco into the low 70s. look for reading into the 80s for fremont and san jose. antioch warming up also. about 5 degrees to 10 degrees. we're going to not be as mild as sentence of the man convicted of one of the worst mass shootings and it's the end of a lengthy and emotional trial. 15 weeks him a 600 witnesses and 2600 pieces of evidence and the jury deliberated for less than seven hours and ultimately determined they could not reach a unanimous version on his sentence and he gets life in prison without parole for killing 12 people back in july in 2012 and moving 70 others. all along the prosecutor has pushed for the death penalty while the defense urged mercy saying james holmes was mentally ill at the time of the crime and he should not be killed because you don't kill six people. they did hear from several mental health experts and yet they convicted him on all counts and they believe he understood right from wrong. perhaps the mental illness played a factor in the sentence. again the punishment for james holmes life imprisonment without parole. the families have been waiting three years for closure. tomorrow the sun is going to come up. we will have more pain and a little more hurt in our lives but the sun will come up and there will still be love in our lives. we have to remember that we have to remember the victims >> we did not lose loved ones. they were ripped from us and slaughtered and that theater but the jury chose another way and we have to accept that >> a little more perspective the death penalty is rare in colorado. there's only been one person executed back in 1997 and only three people are currently on death row and ironically bear from this very county. cnn, colorado >> the national park service says a man was
