It was pretty impressive rainfall totals in fact for the north bay. If we look at the map, put the rainfall totals for what we had sunday. And when we look at the number, the number that stands out most is in the north bay. Look at santa rosas number. When we look at that number, we had a half an inch of rain compared to about 16 hundredths of an inch for everybody else. Look at petaluma. Novato, not as much. But thats in the past. We have no more rain coming our way. Instead we are waking up and have issues with visibility. As we bring the fog on, it looks fairly cloudy. This is a particular issue for fog for one part of the bay. Believe it or not, we will spotlight that same location that got the most rain. Look at santa rosa. Visibility is down to a quarter of a mile. Everybody else can see fine. Petaluma your visibility is down to one mile. The numbers are telling you how far you can see down the road. As we look at the map again, i will lose the visualization and i want you to look at the numbers. Everybody else can see several miles down the road. Today will be the warmest day of the week. I will bring in how much warmer the numbers are than yesterday. Look at some of these, like ten degrees warmer in some places. You notice the warm up today. Its not like we have a drastic cool down. If you got a half inch of rain yesterday and you have cooled into the overnight hours, what starts to happen is the fog starts to build back in. We want to show you video thats going to give a sense of how this took place. It happened in oakley and there is some surveillance video. It may be hard to see whats happening because its dark but it did capture important moments after the shooting. You can hear yelling and you see someone running across the street to try and help. We know that is one of the witnesses and someone who did try to actually help out some of the students who were injured. Again, there were four injuries and of that, one student did die. We were able to talk to the man and he explains a little bit about what he did when he got on scene and saw two teenage boys on the ground. I heard somebody say they were shot. I ran out and grabbed one of my tourniquets. I happened to see the other kid pass away. I was right there as he took his last breaths. It was surreal. To help during the trying time, we have set up the library as a place for students and staff who need support to talk with counseling staff. Oakley police is the agency that is investigating and the chief told kpix that this is shocking because it does not happen often, this type of shooting. Tri valley, your numbers will go to 78. Red wood city 75. To the north bay, we will see a very different day than the one we had yesterday. San francisco, you will have a 70degree day. Look at the numbers for daytime highs. Santa rosa, mid 60s yesterday. If we take the daytime highs, and you see we will climb to around 80 today, lets show you how much warmer you are going to be today than you were yesterday. Thats a big jump. You will be 11 degrees warmer. Napa, you will be 14 degrees warmer. That story stands out more so in the north bay than just about for anybody else. We get a warm up today but it wont be as dramatic as it will be in the sonoma and napa. Lets get into the details on this forecast. The first item, weve got a dense fog advisory. We look at the visibilities in the last visit. We are always picking on the north bay but the visibility is lowest in santa rosa. Thats why the dense fog advisory is exclusive to north bay valleys. Up and down 101 and into napa, give yourself extra time on the road because you will likely encounter fog. I mentioned the warm up. It is the warmest of the next seven days. When we look at the big picture and see what the pacific will try and throw our way, there are systems that will try to get in with rain. Here is the first one. This is far enough away that we are not feeling it. A quiet day monday and this is why weve got the warm up. Watch the system towards the second half of the week. A closer look, on the long range forecast, it looks like we might get rain into that wednesday but we wont. The rain will fall apart and thats not the impact we will get. We will feel the cooler air. Another system tries on saturday and that will fall apart before it gets here. Well see clouds in the sevenday forecast but i dont have rain. But you will see the cool down. Lets look at the numbers across the next seven days. Upper 70s for inland valleys today and tomorrow. Look what happens here. The numbers are back down in the mid 60s. Increase in clouds but no shot of rain. Lets bring in the bay and do the sevenday forecast again for that micro climate.
