Weve been talking about a big celestial event, a lot of eyes will be looking at the sky tomorrow morning, to try to get a glimpse of the annual Solar Eclipse also known as the ring of fire. The bay area is only expected to get a partial view of the eclipse, it happens when the moon is a little too far away to completely block the sun and it creates a donut of light. And in the bay area, we will see a crescent son. We do have tips on where you can catch the eclipse on the front page of our website, kpix. Com. Im going to go over to paul heggen who has the forecast, where would you find the best spot to watch that with the best glasses . That is the important part, you need the glasses because this is not going to be a total eclipse, but the best viewing time is going to be around 9 19 in the morning, the conditions are basically this, the hope is that maybe you can make out some filtered sunlight through the abundant cloud cover we are going to have. I think the best opportunity, you will see more of a break inland, in the east bay and Santa Clara Valley. But you do need those eclipse glasses to safely view this one. We are going to see the High Pressure nudging up from the south on sunday and that means clear weather, clearing from south to north and warmer temperatures in store as well. We are seeing some showers trying to hit the ground in the north bay but most of this has been evaporating on the way down. The bodega bay is the only spot that has officially measured any moisture out of this shower activity. We could see some showers reaching ground level, especially for the north make it through tonight and early tomorrow morning. Some patchy drizzle possible along the coast, maybe even inside the bay for the first half of the day tomorrow. The cloud cover will obscure the view of the eclipse. The drizzle chance will come to an end tomorrow afternoon. It could be a bit damp in Half Moon Bay for the first day of the two day art and pumpkin festival, it has been going on all week with the bigger events happening this weekend. Still a little bit of sunshine peeking through the clouds right now. Current temperatures, only 60 in San Francisco and still 71 degrees in san jose. High temperatures tomorrow despite the clouds are going to manage to warm up to pretty close to what is normal this time of year, especially when you see a little bit more sunshine in the Santa Clara Valley and the east bay. Where the clouds are little bit thicker, that is where the temperatures are going to be cooler. Low 70s for San Francisco and oakland, that is normal for this time of year. The thickest clouds will be north of the golden gate and that is where temperatures are going to be confined to the lower half of the 70s, you have the best chance overall of adding up anything more than a trace of total rainfall. If you have that drizzle, it may not be ideal dog looking weather. Lets take a look at the dog walking forecast. Temperatures tomorrow reaching around 70 degrees in oakland, we are going to see those temperatures warming up a little bit more for the second half of the weekend. A very patient doggie, obviously.
