Confirmed omicron variant cases have popped up throughout the bay area. It hasnt happened yet in San Mateo County. However, county Health Officials say theyve detected traces of the omicron variant in the waste water. So the push for booster shots continues here and throughout the bay area. Today, the San Mateo County event center, people were eager to get their booster. There were long lines throughout the day. Some told us they wanted to get it before holiday celebrations. Others said they felt a need to get it. Because of the omicron variant spreading. This site is shutting down after today until early january. Im told theyll be changing the format to switch from a drivethru to a walkin vaccine site. Theyll staff it differently and shifting format gives them more flexibility for administering the shots. But theyll need to close down the vaccine site all together, temporarily at least to do so. There still will be several other vaccine sites open throughout the holiday season. Here in San Mateo County, im told that 34 of eligible residents have received a booster shot so far. In san mateo, kpix 5. The site will reopen january 4th. County Health Officials say youll be able to make appointments at other sites in the meantime by heading to my turn. Ca. Gov. Take a live look at dublin on this chilly and slightly hazy evening. A live look at San Franciscos union square where the City Health Department is now cracking down on the number of food cart vendors in the area. One of the vendors set up the scene getting carted away. The San Francisco Health Department says its doing permit checks on those who are found to not have the proper paper work. Theyll get the carts confiscated and held for a month depending a hearing. The Health Department says the vendors probably wont get fined or face citations but the department is telling potential food buyers that they should think twice, consumers should be careful to only purchase food from a Street Vendor that has a permit decal sticker on the food cart or mobile vehicle. Watch for patchy frost tomorrow morning. Patchy fog, north bay valleys. If youre an early riser on sunday morning, youll be on the roads, north bay valleys, east bay valleys, plan on fog. Lets look ahead. Heres the big picture, thats the way the pacific is getting set up. If we put the future cast on that. The reason why theres going to be so many days with the possibility for rain on tuesday is because were going to witness the pattern get locked here. Watch what happens. Kind of dig a deep trough out here. And we shouldnt think of this as one particular storm. We should think of this as the atmosphere getting locked into a pattern where theres just going to be a trough out here. And every so often, another system will redevelop, and reinvigorate it. And set up shop along the coast. Watch it from tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday. Theres another one, saturday, sunday, its just kind of stuck that way. All the way through christmas. So trying to time out the specific details like this would be a fools game until we get to within 48 hours of that day. So the take away from that is do you have a day coming up this week thats particularly important for you weather wise and you want to know or need to know is it going to rain on that day . Give it until two days out before we get specific. Right now tuesday is the closest one. It looks like well see the rain begin on tuesday, but if we add up all the potential rain from tuesday through friday, we pick up 2. 5 inches of rain. This is an important feature. That tells us something. This is not going to be particularly heavy rain. If you spread it out over, you know, a four to five day period, 2. 5 inches is very manageable. And thats great. This is the way we want the storms to go. Its not fun to get locked into a pattern for five days where it rains on end. At least were not getting significant flooding storms.
