Here is a live look at san jose where a new variant of the coronavirus has been found and is being linked to some outbreaks in the south bay. This version of the coronavirus is being linked to multiple outbreaks here in Santa Clara County but important note, it is different than the fast spreading variant racing across the uk. There are still lots of cases of this variant here. Researchers at ucsf as well as elsewhere are working to determine whether or not the vaccine is effective for that strain. We are trying to understand whether the features of that outbreak or because of the variant does this variant behave in some different way or does it have to do with other factors that were present at the hospital . Troop there are other counties that have also seen this variant. Those are humboldt, lake, los angeles, mono, monterey, orange, riverside, San Francisco , san bernardino, san diego, and San Luis Obispo counties. Most cases have been here in Santa Clara County with the largest outbreak of this area. A state Health Official is calling for a pause in using a batch of the Moderna Vaccine due to allergic reactions. The states top epidemiologist says less than 10 people got sick after receiving the vaccine at the clinic in a san diego. The allergic reaction is being described as severe. If you are down the flatlands, it wont be quite as windy. It will stay this way through the day today and then through tomorrow morning before things start to lighten up. The winds will pick up. We have another warm afternoon coming our way. We will be in the low 70s for daytime highs. We are way above average for this time of year. Overall, it is a pretty light commute with a 15 Minute Travel time to go southbound 101 from the richmondsan rafael bridge all the way into San Francisco. It is 6 47. It will be windy and warm today. The wind is going to be much more noticeable today than the warm temperatures. We will still be warm but not it is going to get windy. Lets talk about that. It is weird, dont get me wrong but those numbers are accurate in that it has everything to do with the wind. We have been getting some downwind slope effects and that helps to warm the temperatures up on the thermometers. Lets talk about the wind advisory. It does not expire until 6 00 in the evening on tuesday. It covers the entire bay area. If we watch the way the wind speeds will pick up, this gets us into the late morning. The wind speeds pickup particularly if you are near the base of the mountains. If you are over in the east bay hills, as the wind comes over the mountains, they are coming in over the east. You get the downslope and the winds pick up. It will be stronger if you are that is the microclimate effect on the way. It will go that way again into tuesday. Tuesday is stronger. These are the wind speeds on tuesday morning. A 53 Miles Per Hour gust here. We will notice that there is an uptake of winds in tuesday. Tuesday morning will be a little stronger. That is pretty much the take away. Same story in the northbay. We can replay it all again. Same timing applies. As far as the temperatures go today, low 70s. That is about 5 degrees cooler than we were yesterday which means we wont be breaking nearly as many records today as we did yesterday. Low 70s is the theme. South bay, low 70s. East bay, low 70s. 72 will be the daytime high. Pleasanton goes to 70. We will top out at 72 in walnut creek and in concord. San leandro, 72 we will be in the low 70s as we work our way through marin. Up into lake county, temperatures will be in the 70s. It will be risky at the beaches.
