We saw a nice turn to the weather today, still sunny but significantly less breezy because the area of High Pressure pretty much moved directly overhea. Now its drifting farther inland, so the winds will turn around at least temporarily, but it means dry weather. High pressure means sinking air in the atmosphere overhead. You need the air to go up to form clouds and eventually any rain and the Drought Conditions across the bay area continue to get gradually worse and worse. The latest update from the u. S. Drought monitor shows severe to extreme drought across most of the bay area. The best you can find is moderate drought in santa clara and san mateo counties and thats not great either. The main expansion has been the severe drought category pushing farther and farther south, extreme drought category pretty consistent the past several months. Addison gets to enjoy fantastic weather in rohnert park saturday, sunshine and temperatures warming up from the chilly start in the north bay up into the mid60s by saturday afternoon. Thats where most of us will end up which leaves us 3 to 6 degrees above average. Normal highs across the bay area, right around 60 degrees in late november and well exceed that by roughly 4 or 5 degrees in most locations tomorrow right around 60 along the coast with low to mid60s for the south bay and into the santa clara valley, low to mid 60s for the trivalley, not a huge difference heading farther inland. Eastern contra costa and solano counties wont be dramatically warmer. Temperatures around the bay itself low to mid60s with mid and a few upper 60s for the north bay and one of the warmer spots is farther north into mendocino and lake counties and cloverdale in the neighborhood at least of 70 degrees. Temperatures might be a degree warmer sunday, not much in the way of ups and downs in temperatures the next seven days and not much in the way of rain chances at all. Third quarter cal going for it on fourth and one from inside the five, chase garbers rolling out and finds a wide open Nikko Remigio tying the game at 17. After the bears penalty austin jones drug the pile into the end zone for his second td, the cardinal up seven. Final minutes, the axe on the line, cal facing a third and goal, chris brown takes it in. The bears had 241 yards on the ground, but they still needed the extra point to tie it. For the second time in the game stanford blocks the kick, just too many miscues for the bears today and the cardinal win 24 23. Theyre taking the axe back to the farm and after the game cal coach Justin Wilcox was asked about kicking the extra point instead of going for two. Offense was moving the ball. So we felt good about going to overtime. Obviously it was the wrong decision and i own that 100 . I think our guys took a lot of pride in grabbing the axe and taking a picture in front of that, our axe sign up there, and just to remind everybody it is called the stanford axe. So were excited to bring that stanford axe back to stanford, california. The other big game today, usf taking on fourth ranked virginia. Tony Bennetts Team won the National Title in 2019.
