The state and county have applied for a temporary restraining order against Calvary Chapel and the pastor. He has been Holding Indoor services in the 3,000 seat church since the end of may and has accumulated more than 300,000 in fines. He is asking court to deny the restraining order arguing the county is singling out religious services as more dangerous than many other indoor activities that are allowed. Fire crews spent the night monitoring an under ground vault fire at the interchange in san jose. Firefighters initially thought natural gas may be feeding it so they let it burn until pge arrived. Turns out a large gas line in the area was not damaged. The fuel was actually debris in an under ground drainage system. Right now, fire crews dont know how it started or if anyone was under ground when it broke out. They hope to get under ground to search as soon as it is safe to do so. An east Bay School District plans to combine in person and online instruction. Mount diablo unified currently has 100 distance learning. The school board is opting for a hybrid model starting in january that will bring students to classrooms for at least part of the time. The district and north bay says academic performance is lagging with distance learning. Students received about 3,000 marks of d, f, or incomplete through september. That compares to roughly 1800 a year ago out of about 5,000 students. Today, a spooky themed hollowellness health fair will pop up in san jose today. This is from a tsunami triggered by the 7. 0 earthquake that happened about an hour ago in the angean sea in mediterranean between greece and turkey.
